Can we just be honest about UFC matchmaking

I don’t think Izzy is scared. But, he doesn’t seem to be frothing at the mouth for redemption. At some point the division needs fresh challengers. If Alex can win his next cpl-3 fights impressively, then this fight makes sense.

I think Izzy fans are the ones actually frightened of the matchup. But, this is one of those rare times where the champion calling out somebody would be appropriate. And the reason should be obvious to all. I suspect Izzy fans will all be on board with Silva this weekend. And if Silva wins they’ll talk massive shit.
 
Nobody gives a fuck about Alex outside of us. How can they even sell a PPV when nobody really knows him? Let him work up the ranks and at least get his name out. Alex hasn't fought anyone in his division. He is 4-1 and has one fight in the UFC against someone we don't even know. This is goofy logic to give him a title shot. Alex didn't even get his name out like Khamzat.

well he was a top guy in kickboxing and then got brutally kod and never did it again. you're delusional if you think that ko didnt make him change his mind about certain things and decide to pursue mma instead when he had to fight for another year before he got the call from the ufc.

I just want to see the fight, Izzy is ducking. styles make fights and this is a terrible match up for him, period.

after alex won, yeah a good wrestler would be bad for him to fight but guess what, there's like 0 at mw. all of them are mediocre wrestlers. gastelum, cannonier and brunson are decent, that's about it. either way, I'm not concerned with a title run by Alex. let's just see him and Izzy fight. we already know what happened under kickboxing rules, Alex kod him so bad izzy retired. lets see what happens in mma.

all those fights are a toss up, jacare is retired, weidman is shot and out of the rest, none are incredible wrestlers and mediocre strikers that have been caught before.

Izzy making him earn a shot at the champ is more than expected! Izzy didn't walk straight into a title fight, he made a name from his style and finishing fights. Alex aslo has that exciting style and finishes fights. If he can hang with the big boys on the MMA scene as he did at Kickboxing, they'll meet paths again. A guy with what 5 MMA fights, signs with the biggest promotion and is gifted an immediate title shot in a division full of studs has to already be a big name fighter, known to the casuals not just the diehards. Like a Tyson Fury or Floyd Mayweather, they'd prob actually get immediate title shots. More like Joshua or Wilder, hell if CM pink had won his first 2 bouts, a title shot probably wouldn't have been far away <Fedor23>

also, when did khamzat flat line a reigning champion in the ufc in any type of combat sport? not an equal comparison
 
Hard to give a guy a title fight with one or two wins. His accomplishments are in kickboxing not MMA. These days I don't think that would fly

izzy has been flatlined once so bad he retired from his first sport. he could get his revenge whenever he wants but won't even ask for it. he wants to wait him out and hopes the fight never happens.

here's after Alex finishes Silva he beats 1 more guy and gets the shot

Khamzat built a buzz around him. He still has to get through Burns and others. Alex did absolute shit in his division. What you are suggesting is highly disrespectful to other fighters in the division.

Your whole thread is off base because it's contingent on Izzy being afraid. He isn't. That simple. I do believe the UFC will fast track Alex if he keeps winning, but he could easily get derailed by the right matchup.

How do you know he isn't? he could take the fight at any time. that's the nature of the UFC. everyone here knows the ufc would make the fight, its up to izzy. seems like's scared. he also retired from kboxing after that ko because he was scared. never called for a trilogy fight but he could have got one there soon enough also.
