Either these younger guys have no better competition, or theyre cherry picking older fighters. Either way, current state of competition is lame as hell. Instead of paying wwe freakshows to come over, how about going out and finding some younger talent?

I dont think its so much going out and finding them. If you look at the UFC roster they have lots of younger names you just never see fight on cards. Even at HW they have a lot more fighters then anyone would guess by watching fights.

bruh...how the hell is shogun ranked 8th in the world. Even before the fight started, that's just ludicrous.

Wouldn't it be a great idea if they made a couple of shows that revolved around finding young talent somehow???o_O

Your not getting younger talent until you pay more.

Please dont imply TUF is finding some world beaters. Hell, I just watched the fight minutes ago and I already forgot the guys name that beat shogun.

Not likely. We've had the opportunity to see legends leave this sport damaged for life and barely compensated. UFC is dieieing bro.

Those shows are good for finding people who wants to fight cheap, not for finding the next champions/greats.

the thing is, why would anyone choose MMA over any other sport?

even for a professional sport, MMA's income is so unstable it's not even funny. MMA is much more of a crapshoot than most other professional sports, because not only are you trying to prove your worth by winning, you have to also prove that you're popular, and THEN you have to deal with negotiating with WME/IMG.

unless you're an undefeated matrix KO artist who has 20m twitter followers, you're not guaranteed to make ANY money.

its normal in the current state of mma. mma fighters usually did something else until their 20s/30s and then decide to start a cage fighting career. thats why we see such old guys with limited skillset at the top level.
