Can The Avengers take down Superman?

Lets be honest here...they needed to nerf superman to get onto other heros levels...

Thor with a kryptonite made Mjolnir or Stormbreaker would fuck him up badly

Hell even without kryptonite pretty sure he can go toe to toe with him. He's a gaaaawwddd after all

Super speed frost breath and heat vision fucks him up badly.

Unless for some stupid reason they decided that during that fight supes decides to not go super sonic and dance around all the lightening shit before sending thor into orbit.

Cause you know gotta make the fights interesting and all.

Basically with super speed supes would have the ability to never get hit by thor or lightening or anything if he was written honestly and true to his powers. But then no fights would be interesting would they?
 
There's overpowered and then there's superman. Strange and Thor will give him problems but he should still own the lot of them.
 
Isn't Thor literally a God, i.e. son of Odin? I've got to think there would be something in his tool kit to take out a mortal, albeit an apex mortal.

Didn't Wolverine survive an atomic blast? I'm guessing that would trump going through a silly at high velocity.
 
I've actually done a break down on here of this before and it was very detailed.

In short the answer is no, they can't.

After 1 minute only the Hulk and Thor are alive and after 5 Thor is begging for mercy and that is assuming Superman is being lenient, if he is bloodlusted then it's over within 3 minutes.

Superman has feats that are beyond anything the Avengers have ever done, he would bulldoze them.

Also for those saying kryptonite, it wouldn't really work, kryptonite was created just a a means to make Superman barely beatable, it's the worst convenient plot armour I have ever read in reality Superman moves so fast that anyone with Kryptonite would be taken out before they knew what was happening but you need a way for Lex Luthor to be a threat for Supes so you create krytonite.

Yes, but he couldn't avoid getting his neck ripped of by Superman without kryptonite.

Absolutely not, Darkseid is a nightmare for anyone.

Also Dr. Strange with the time stone is a cheat character he can in theory defeat anyone under the level of a celestial / cosmic entity

He doesn't actually beat them though he manipulates time itself, how can you stop him? You can't

Lex Luther and batman have done it multiple times, if you don’t think the avangers could you are dilusional.

Tony stark I’m sure could find some kyrponite, Thor could take him to Asgaurd, no yellow sun sups is fucked.

Luthor and Batman have because the writers wanted them to and Supes has way to much mercy on Earth.

Trust me Superman is beyond the Avengers.

Frost is not going to hurt Thor. Thor can fight on Jotunheim which is really cold. And he took a heat blast from Surtr in Ragnorok, and just brushed it off with a hammer. Thor can go to Nidavellir and have the Giant Dinklage force a Kryptonite hammer
 
Almost anything can happen in comics.
