Can The Avengers take down Superman?

Super speed frost breath and heat vision fucks him up badly.

Unless for some stupid reason they decided that during that fight supes decides to not go super sonic and dance around all the lightening shit before sending thor into orbit.

Cause you know gotta make the fights interesting and all.

Basically with super speed supes would have the ability to never get hit by thor or lightening or anything if he was written honestly and true to his powers. But then no fights would be interesting would they?

Well apparently they already clashed in the DC/marvel crossover comic (didn't knew that) and look like you are correct... Sup won but barely. But Sup lost to the New Avengers. So here it is :

Bet you weren't expecting to see the Avengers on this list, what with them being from a completely different publisher and universe and all. But Marvel's mightiest heroes did indeed put the ultimate smackdown on Superman in the pages of Avengers/JLA #2. In this hotly contested inter-universe crossover, Superman and Thor went toe-to-toe, mano a mano. Superman barely beat Thor, but ended the fight dazed and severely weakened. That was more than enough of an opening for Thor's buddies to do what they do best: avenge him. The team's heaviest hitters—Iron Man, Hercules, Wonder Man, The Vision, and She-Hulk—dogpiled on Superman and pummeled him unconscious. Pow!

Frost is not going to hurt Thor. Thor can fight on Jotunheim which is really cold. And he took a heat blast from Surtr in Ragnorok, and just brushed it off with a hammer. Thor can go to Nidavellir and have the Giant Dinklage force a Kryptonite hammer

Supes could turn Thor into a giant icecube...imobolizing him temporarily allowing supes to send Thor into orbit. But supes doesn't even need to do that as he has other more powerful tools in his arsenal that Thor doesn't.

And as for Thor needing to go get a kryptonite hammer? You needing to get Thor another tool to try to counter Supes default powers is an admission of Thor's weakness towards superman.

And finally I need to remind you of Superman's super speed.

Take this scene.

Or this to help confirm this power;

Superman is as fast as flash. He could fight Thor at a speed that would have Thor appear to be not moving at all. The fight, if written true to powers wouldn't even have Thor be able to call lightening, throw a punch or do anything. It would be over before Thor even knew it had started.

Supes wins this easily, and since I brought up super speed and the ability to go sonic allowing him to fight stationary opponents...I don't think any of the Avengers, assembled or not could honestly take him.

Supes wins. And Supes does it in a blink of an eye to help add insult to injury.

You don't see this in most comics or movies as it is EXTREMELY OP. It was only used to help save people or create a comical moment between he and flash. But it's a writers death sentence to actually maintain continuity with Supes super speed yet tell an interesting story.

This is a problem with the character, and yes he needs further nurfing.

Yes, but he couldn't avoid getting his neck ripped of by Superman without kryptonite.
Wouldnt the tissue just regenerate, head or not? Being at the center of an atomic blast would certainly do more than rip a head off.

Again...I don't even have to read the comics to know they wrote it without keeping continuity to Supes speed. I doubt they even address it. Because how could you and still tell a compelling story?

Supes could litterally round the globe in a blink of an eye and be whereever the avengers were and disable any plan used to counter supe's speed before it was even activated.

Prep time would hardly be a path to victory against someone who can move so fast you are perceived as standing still.

So while it's fun to see these cross over stories told by random writers...I lose interest if they don't write an accurate story. Once ya realize that they are not staying to to the character's real powers then you are just reading an agenda that the writers have. And at that point you may as well just say "well because this writer hates superman...thor wins."

If there's no kyrptonite, then no. There's not a single superhero that would survive this, period; Besides other kryptonians who enter our atmosphere, of course.

The only DCEU movie I liked.

I think Hawkeye would need a kryptonite arrow or something like that. Superman is way overpowered otherwise.

that's how Green Arrow took Supes down in TDKR, giving Batman the upper hand in the fight. Definitely could work.

Isn't Thor literally a God, i.e. son of Odin? I've got to think there would be something in his tool kit to take out a mortal, albeit an apex mortal.
the gods in the Marvel universe are not invincible deities. The Hulk is MUCH stronger than Thor even at base level. And enraged he could destroy all Valhalla.

I rank Thor only a little above The Thing. He is nothing to Superman.

if we are talking deadlifts. thor is much is closer to post-crisis superman than the thing if we are talking mjolnir and top end feats.

Marvel fucked it all up with multiple universes so which timeline is accepted? I go by the classical rankings.

always thought Iron man and batman so lame just gadet technology wish they would die and only actual super people be around. Spiderman is can too

I always thought Superman was a stupid superhero.

If it's in the movies, Iron Man and Hulk fist fight with Superman and then Thor takes him by surprise and kills him.

Guess what.. Who sells more, is stronger. Thor lops the aliens head off.

The Avengers consist of:
Captain America
Iron Man
Thor
Hulk

Can they beat a bloodlusted Superman?

Give me a couple of kilos of Kyrptonite and a baseball bat, and I'll make Superman my prison bitch.

Without Special K, Superman bitch-slaps the Avengers and doesn't even break a sweat.
