I remember watching Kimbo vs Shamrock and thinking it was fixed. I assumed I was too hyped in the moment but I just watched it again. I have a black belt in BJJ (at a local chain 10th planet so probably not the best) but the position shamock had then Kimbo's defense makes no sense of how he escaped. I get Shamrock was old as hell but the man new leg attacks I'd assume he knew how to finish a rear naked choke. I love Kimbo and he seemed like a good person but it's weird.

Ken Shamrock, in his later years, always fought like a doof. His fight with Rich Franklin and his 2nd fight with Tito were very wonky. Ppl were saying those fights were fixed.

I honestly don’t think it was a fix. If it was, why didn’t Bellator fix his fight with Dada 5000? That fight was awful. One of the worst fights ever displayed.

1:45, Ken took his hand off the top of Kimbo's head and placed it where Kimbo could easily grab it.

Ken spent many years doing pro wrasslin... you can come to your own conclusions here.

Not gonna lie this looked a bit sketchy too!

Why would he have to take a dive against Franklin though? Franklin was going to kill Ken regardless, Ken’s clearly dropping for a leglock (which he partially gets) and gets intercepted with a jab on the way in.

Ken should have stayed on top in this case. When he rolled to his back Kimbo started defending enough to keep from getting choked out. Looks suspect as you mentioned Ken had a lot of mileage. If you do a lot of BJJ then you know that a big strong roided up and motivated guy possibly on stimulants makes the moves way less effective.

Spot on conclusion for any n00bs here

Imagine having a black belt in BJJ and downplaying it since it’s ”just from a local 10th planet gym”. Nice try OP, but you’re not a black belt in anything. Maybe aim lower next time, like 2 stripe blue belt or something.

And yes, Kimbo escapes that sunk in rear naked choke 0 out of 10 times if there isn’t some kind of fix in it. A very strong guy (even if old and worn down) like Ken would’ve just squeezed for the finish.

Seems legit . Kimbo wasn't the greatest fighter but he could throw a punch . Shamrock got cocky and sloppy and didn't exactly have a great chin .
At the end of the day Shamrock will probably say he was going for some kind of leglock or whatever .
Would probably ask for a rematch if it didn't involve voodoo.maybe he will get one in wweeee.
