Can Jiri Prochazca win the rematch?

Yes

He had Alex hurt before getting countered

But thats the problem, Alex is too accurate with his counters and Jiri is too reckless

Jiri can wrestle more, kick more, all of that.

But he needs to put Alex out otherwise he'll get countered

Maybe that isn't what you mean, but this reads like you giving Jiri the advantage early. Alex is a cerebral fighter and will take his time, but he really doesn't need much - just look at how quickly he took care of Strickland and Hill (2-3 minutes). Plus he's already fought Jiri, so the magical unorthodoxy that everyone seems to be banking on is not such a mystery to him anymore.

Jiri can catch Alex, for sure, but he is the underdog here, if he goes the striking route. If he fights like a grappler, avoiding exchanges and looking strictly for opportunities to lock up, who knows..
I have nothing against people nerding out and flexing their knowledge of the sport and the fighters, and I like reading it, but I think most fight predictions are myopic in that for all the scenarios we can imagine, it's only going to be one specific scenario that ends the fight, and it's anybody's guess which one that will be or who will pull it off. So my takes are a little more abstract and less specific, because there are simply too many variables to say for sure what will happen. When I say Jiri early, I mean I feel like that's when his odds are best to end the fight, not so much that Alex can't do the same. The longer the fight goes, the more I favor Alex as once he has made his computations, that's when he's truly lethal. Granted he can land that night night 10 seconds in too. I don't know what Jiri's gameplan will be, if he'll be more cautious. He most certainly should be. But if he's going to fall into chaotic blitzing, his 50/50 odds are probably right there in the first couple minutes. After that I imagine if will be easier for Alex to read and counter him.

I think he should grapple and first of all try to see if the toe/foot are vulnerable. But Jiri's a nut, I think he just does what he does and let's the chips fall where they may.

Why is it even a question?

Seriously these two are 50/50.

This fight is fucking amazing. I'd watch them go at it for years

I dont think this is what happened.

Jiri was doing fine. He popped alex and alex backed up and i think Jiri got too overexcited and went for an overhand with no setup which is what poatan capitalized on. It was more a overzealous mistake than anything. He hadnt been throwing that before. He was feinting and setting up his shots previous.
Watch any Jiri fight. What he did was no different to usual except he got caught by Alex. His entire thing is shifting forward throwing wild punches until he catches someone on the end of them. He didn't fight much different vs Alex, Alex is just better at keeping him at range than the others he fought. Jiri had success to start and then Alex worked out that range. Jiri tried to push inside it and got dropped and ultimately was on his way to getting put out fully.

It's probably 60/40 Alex but he's injured and coming off a vacation. It really comes down to who fights smart and has the better night. They are very evenly matched.

Intriguing matchup - neither are what I'd call defensive specialists, and neither has a rocksolid chin. They are both decently effective at defending shots and both have a serviceable chin - Jiri might have the slight edge in chin, but he gets hit more.

The difference of styles in intriguing - Alex is much more technical while Jiri is unorthodox and long. Both have KO power.

He definitely has a chance to win. I hope its a great fight.

It's actually nutty he got the tap there. No hooks or anything. And that's not even a proper bulldog choke because he would have needed the other arm under the chin.

Sometimes the squeeze is just that tight. I was grappling with someone in my BJJ class last week and he got a rear naked choke on me. I did everything you're supposed to, including peeling off the anchoring arm, but he was so strong that he was able to keep choking pressure even with the single arm on my neck and no anchor.

He knocked out oezdemir w one punch.

Knocked out Reyes w one elbow

Lots of one punch kos in pre UFC career as well
More 1-punch power than Izzy who KO'd Poatan.

We know Alex can get knocked out, and we know Jiri can knock people out, so yeah, of course he can win the rematch. But Jiri's too hittable for me to be confident in it happening.

Jiri also doesn’t really seem to have one lunch power but more swarming stoppage ability. I don’t think Jiri is THAt dangerous for alex

Jiri should wrestel
I think Jiri could end the fight with one punch or elbow, it's just not likely. Poatan isn't a good match-up for a guy willing to eat 3 punches for everyone he throws, even if possibly could land some haymaker or unorthodox move. If Jiri could get a TD or two, even if he doesn't do much on the ground, that would make Poatan think twice, maybe change his approach and possibly be more hesitant or leave an opening. But I don't like Jiri's odds in a pure stand-up war. All he has is a relatively small puncher's chance.
