I think I remember Shane Carwin doing this in some of his fights.
I think it would be a big advantage to have an energy drink, or even a milk/banana smoothie in between rounds to get more energy.
I remember years and years ago, some of my Arab students recommended Camels milk as being very good for energy.
Is this illegal? Why don't more fighters do this?
it takes about 10 or so minutes for any sugar to get into your blood...so it wouldn't be worth it...
LOL
Most would barf from that during a fight.
Body shots all night.
Imagine the mess.
They could be pulsing 4 loko and fight milk into the 5th round.
We have had enough people shit themselves in the octagon.
I think they should go to McDonald's in between rounds, because then they would weigh more than their opponents, which seems like an advantage to me.
I'd be drinking rum between rounds
I'd like to see someone smoke a cigarette between rounds.
Harold Howard used to eat a full roast beef dinner in between rounds.
It's water only in boxing i know for a fact, unless you have panama lewis for a coach then it's the bottle he mixed.
Oh, man. That brings back memories. I watched that fight on live TV. Pryor vs Arguello was one of the best boxing fights I ever saw. It's a shame that black bottle tainted it somewhat.
Water only.. Actually there was a famous controversy in the 1st Aaron Pryor VS Alexis Arguello fight. Pryor's trainer kept saying between rounds to "Give me the bottle, the one that I mixed" His trainer Panama Lewis was a known cheat who was eventually banned from boxing.. Nobody knows exactly what was in there. Pryor won by stoppage and a narrative was out there, that whatever was in the bottle may have been why. Pryor beat Alexis up worse in the rematch..
I believe you can have other drinks, but they need to be approved by whoever's regulating the fight in advance.
I think it is only water.. To prevent the use of stimulants.
(Boxing admittedly, but I would expect mma to be the same)

Question: What drinks are allowed in the corner during a fight?
Answer: Water and electrolyte drinks are allowed in the corner. Any electrolyte drink must be brought to the arena in factory-sealed, plastic bottles. Moreover, a contestant must provide the Commission and its staff with information about the requested drink in sufficient time to make a determination as to whether the drink is approvable (e.g., no stimulants, alcohol, drugs, or other questionable ingredients, etc.). Examples of electrolyte drinks that have been approved include Pedialyte, Vitaminwater, Smartwater, Option, Gatorade, Powerade and Propel. Energy drinks and soft drinks are not allowed in the corner.
Interesting. I am surprised they even open that door..
