Can fighters drink energy drinks in between rounds?

I'm not sure if the UFC has a rule but at least some states don't allow caffeine once the fighter is in the arena

Depends. If it's Jones then he can mainline gasoline and crack if he wants. Anyone else will probably get suspended for a few years because their post fight tests would be all over the place i'd imagine. I think Chael described how much caffeine you were allowed to have in your system, and it wasnt much.

My god they would be pulsing soooooo hard

I'd love to see a fighter slam a can of monster in between rounds then come out with a Vitor style blitzkrieg and blast their opponent to bolivian

I think I remember Shane Carwin doing this in some of his fights.

I think it would be a big advantage to have an energy drink, or even a milk/banana smoothie in between rounds to get more energy.

I remember years and years ago, some of my Arab students recommended Camels milk as being very good for energy.

Is this illegal? Why don't more fighters do this?

Because you do not want to draw blood away from the cardiovascular system or peripheral tissues to digest crap. Particularly when it is not going to be metabolized until after the fight is over, anyway.

I always wondered why the fighters corner men don't slyly slip a fighter a carbohydrate energy pill with the water. Could just pretend he's playing with his mouth piece. And won't fail a drug test.

clear liquid in sealed in see through plastic bottles.

If there is a ban I wonder if any camps ever crush up caffeine pills and add them to their water.

Also, there's actually a limit of caffeine you're allowed to have in your system IIRC

Was something like 254 mg. But I believe that number has changed.

At one point, I think ufc said only water was allowed, due to spilling and stickiness

And around that time you would see people taking fake sips of closed xyience cans and stuff

Don’t know if that’s still a rule though

Yep, pretty sure that’s right. Corners spill all the time.
