Can fighters drink energy drinks in between rounds?

ALL the energy you need should be in your stomach/system before starting the fight. The water is just used to rehydrate a bit and taking away the sense of thirst.

It's just 15 minutes (25 at he most), no nutrition in between needed.
What if you're pulsing tho?

Not a great idea. I drank a red bull at qtr time in a football match and took like 5 mins to settle.

There’d be a major adrenaline dump

Energy drinks raise your heart rate, exactly the opposite effect you're looking for in between rounds. Who cares if it's legal, it's dumb.

nothing you drink or eat will work during rounds, because it takes too long to get into your blood stream. if you took a energy drink with a high caffeine content for example, it would take at least 20-25 minutes to actually get into your blood stream, maybe even longer depending on your weight etc etc. it would be useless as most UFC fights are only 15 mins max.

Drinking spunk or breast milk is allowed.
As long as it doesn't contain Tbol metabolites. Or maybe that can be Jon's next excuse. He's had this in system since he was breastfed as a child :p

Just my opinion, but I think it would be a disaster.

Those drinks are intended for mental alertness and physical energy when the conventional person’s motivation starts to wane.

I don’t think an energy drink is going to put an athletes performance beyond their physical max and may even increase their heart rate. They may even start to experience dizziness or lightheadedness.

I think I remember Shane Carwin doing this in some of his fights.

I think it would be a big advantage to have an energy drink, or even a milk/banana smoothie in between rounds to get more energy.

I remember years and years ago, some of my Arab students recommended Camels milk as being very good for energy.

Is this illegal? Why don't more fighters do this?
you have never been in a fight clearly.

Imagine the burping from Guida and Sylvia.

It takes a while for caffeine to kick in, longer than the fight lasts.

Also, the sugar and thickness would be detrimental during the fight.
