Calling car audio experts

Yea, Dual and Jensen do suck bowels but you get what you pay for. Seriously though

fuck Pioneer my CD's would always jam up in those piece of shit decks. Never again.

To each their own, but Pioneer makes one of if not the best deck of the past decade. If you're not familiar with it look up the 880PRS. That thing is incredible.

The AVIC series decks are also very respectable and the p9 is arguably one of the best decks ever made...

I will check this out. I assume this is a reputable brand

I hate all the car audio people out there, it's like they're trying to compensate for having a small penis. Look how bad ass I am. I'm sorry but when I'm driving down the street I don't want to hear your music. When you're driving your car the radio is mere inches from you the factory speakers in your car are more then sufficient.

You can have a system to enhance the quality of sound produced inside the cab without it even being noticeable to other drivers

thank you AE. In high school I had a system and nobody knew it.

What kind of budget are you working with? A fantastic buy that will blow the doors off Rockford's is the SSA Dcon. They're only around $100 each and don't need too much power to run them. My other advice would be to never spend more money on your subs than you can spend on an amp. If you're looking to have any simblance of quality sound getting to your ears you need to spend at least the same amount for an amp.

Here's a little clip of what the Dcon's can do.

I was thinking 400 on subs and amp combined. I found a ton of shit on craigslist for cheaper.
Edit: just watched the video. I don't want that....and flol at that kind of bass with 2 car seats in the back. Ha!

You need a new deck mang. Pioneer blows.

My first pioneer deck I bought when I was 14. It lasted til I was 28, when I sold my last vehicle. It still worked.
No, they're decks are decent for the money. Dual and Jensen blow.

I wouldn't buy Jensen.

CD's? Is this 1999? I will be using the Aux jack primarily.

For someone looking for expert opinions, there sure are a lot of uneducated posters in here...

What is your budget TS, and what subs specifically? What is the airspace of that enclosure?

400, rockford fosgate P2s. The enclosure is the one in the OP.

hey spark, if you want something nice. I suggest you hit up one of them custom audio shops.

you might pay a bit more, but you will also not have to worry about rattling and other stuff, plus if you want an audio system in your truck, it's always better to get it custom made. A custom audio shop will usually include the dynamat installation when you buy and get a system installed.

you shouldn't need anything crazy anyway, a couple of 10 inch subs should do the job.

I am going window shopping today.

Spark, check out www.diyma.com There is a lot of VERY knowledgeable guys on there

will do Freakser

I am a believer in Pioneer and I am not changing my deck out.

Funnily enough I drive a little Peugeot 106 for now and have just bought a sound system for it. Got a nice 1400 watt - 350 rms JBL 12" Sub and a 2 channel Kenwood amplifier.

Only one door speaker worked so had to buy 2 6x9 250 watt speakers to get it to go nicely with the sub.

It sounds fucking great and with just a bit more tweaking, it'll be perfect.

The only problem I have is with my Kewnwood head unit/deck. I have a USB stick with 600+ songs and it only plays 255. Anyone know why this is? It's doing my head in lol.

What kind of music do you listen to? If you like anything other than rap I'd suggest steering clear of Rockford's new stuff. Their subs can get pretty loud, but they generally sound pretty boomy and have a really peaky frequency response.

Soundqubed used to be called AudioQ. They sell direct to customers, which allows for lower prices, since there is no middle man.

If you haven't heard of Soundqubed/AudioQ. They are made by the same family that make DD(Digital Designs).

Also, please do yourself a favor and build your own box. Prefab boxes suck 99% of the time.

Also, IMO Alpine makes great quality decks

It's going in a truck. Subs that need huge ported boxes shouldn't really apply here. Though I'd love to get my hands on a DD 3510.

Should have went with an Alpine setup. Best speakers for the money IMO...

IMO, Alpine is pretty lackluster unless you get the Type X products which are nice, but you can get better for the money.

I know. In a few posts I'm gonna start trying to talk him into building a wall.

Here is a video from a few years ago. 2-18 inch AudioQ hdc3's underpowered on an AQ2200D in an explorer

looking for something quite nice I would suggest checking into the JL Audio W1v2's for the best price, if you want the best bang they have developed a new woofer they call a pancacke woofer but they are VERY expensive. JL Audio is going to give you the widest range of bass but also at the loftyess price. The W1v2's tho are not that expensive and have GREAT range. I would also stick with there amp, probbably the 300/1. I work in a car audio shop...

Speakers are the worst things Alpine turns out... IMO.

Really? I had the 'Type S' speakers in my Maxima and them shits were LOUD, not to mention very clear.

If I had the money though, I would go with JL Audio.

when i had a system installed a few years ago, i ended up buying Memphis subwoofers.

i had never heard of that brand, but damn they were very good.

The M class subs sound fantastic but are pretty lacking in output (I still loved them though). Their Power Reference line are some of the best budget subs in the game, and the old orange basket M3's were really nice too. Memphis amps are even better.

I installed:

Alpine deck
Alpine 100 x 4 amp
Infinity Reference separates up front (5 1/4)
Infinity Reference 6x9's in the back
Powered Infinity Sub 10' sub in the trunk with a radial

It was years ago, so I don't have the model numbers. But for the price and the sound, it was a great deal.

I have a convertible, so I only needed the 10' sub.

that is too much ^^^^ lol

pointing to those 18's

Yes it was, I very rarely played it, but man that thing would give you a full body massage.

Hit 150 DB's @38 hz on a termlab.
