What city folk usually do when there's a blackout?
I sat just outside my apartment and had a really good chinwag with a neighbour for most of the hour, it was nice. Socially distanced obviously, but he's a really nice old guy who I've only ever really said "hi" to in the 3 years I've lived here.

I'm in nearby Nevada and our power has been wonky for months.

As in negligence or intended power outages?
Like most desert towns I've lived in, the infrastructure is ancient and strange. In every way you can imagine. These places clearly never intended to have millions of people living here.

A fair amount of the housing is crumbling tenements and old converted motels from the 60s

No power outage here in LA, well, at least in my part. Had some issues a year or two ago, when I believe it is was a bit hotter(2-3 degrees warmer).

I didn't say you were moving for politics. I just said that the left wing politics of California affects your energy grids out there and people are moving away because things are better for them elsewhere
Hey buddy how you been? Hope the family is doing well.

Gotcha. Everything should be underground here so we don't have to worry about the wildfires and overhead cables setting them off, considering it's Silicon Valley and rich in that respect, very little is being put in to fix a very long term infrastructure problem. It will cost flippin millions but every year it's like putting a bandaid on a bullet hole. I don't get affected by the wildfire power outages at least being I'm way into the city.
Doesn't help that (don't quote me on this) PG&E have filed for bankruptcy twice.
