California

I lived and grew up in California as a young kid. Naturally big memories for me is the nice weather. It did get cold though during winter time in central California. I can still remember well flying to Florida in the month of Feb. with my father and being amazed at how nice and warm it was in the sunshine state.

It's a shithole. Trump should wall it in and throw the people that have moved out back inside
That's hilarious coming from someone who lives in vegas

1st, Congrats to all that have been slick enough to own a home and prosper in Cali. :)

Thumpin' AF tune, Dre and Tupac banging it out !

Some more of Tupac, a scathing diss track to East Coast rapper Biggie & associates.

Where do you live and where have you lived? Where here have you travelled in California and for what purpose?

Los Angeles has the good and the bad. I live on the Westside and we do have our share of crime and homelessness. But it is also the Land of Convenience if you want good food and different types of food. Lots of nice looking ladies from every country in the World too. Best weather also and not too smoggy if you are close to the ocean. Also the Los Angeles Dodgers who won back to back World Series Championships.

I do adore LA, probably for the most part restaurant and entertainment. But stayed enough time to know I'd be quite happy living there.

It's probably good to have a friend in LA so you have someone to stay with when visiting who can drive you around. Avoid neighborhoods if the majority of the houses look like jail cells. Westwood, Bel-Air, Beverly Hills are nice.

I'm honestly in love with where I am, but have spent enough time in LA over a couple of decades to know I'd be happy there too.

Name me a policy that directly affected your life.
I know you weren't talking to me, but I can think of a few.

The biggest one for me was when they decided shoplifting would be a misdemeanor and to not even prosecute.

Theft went through the roof in my town. Felt like every time I went to the store I'd see employees getting into it with thieves.

I think it attracted more scum to the state, and kids that weren't thieves before, I think it encouraged them to become thieves.

It was a major reason I moved away. I heard they changed that law now but I didn't know if things have improved. It's like putting the genie back in the bottle.

Amen Brother. I'd like to tie one end of a rope around George Gascon's neck with the other end tied to the rear bumper of my GMC then show him around the County until there wasn't enough wet hamburger staying in the noose to complete the tour. I only hate those that are worth the energy and commitment.

State income taxes
Sales taxes
Gas taxes (SB1 + a million other props)
Electricity costs
Internet costs
Water costs
Inheritance laws(prop 19)
Building regulations galore, nobody builds new, but ADU's pop up everywhere and often dont have to comply since classified as "additions".
Homeless policy

only god knows how much of our taxes siphoned for high speed rail, water supply,

Why would you want to come to california? I live here and dont want to be here. Just got back from TN, what a great state.

I lived and worked in Oakland for some time doing contract work. All kinds of wonderful outdoor adventures are just a few hours drive and the food was great. However, the cost of living, crime, and general disposition of a lot of the people I had to interact with turned me off. I've also traveled around and seen a lot of southern CA. Great scenery and plenty of variety in just about anything you'd want to do.

My personal goals and values don't really fall in line with what makes CA great to a lot of the people who love living there. My money going further elsewhere gives me a greater sense of security and a much higher standard of living for my family as well as a brighter future(in my opinion). If I strike it rich and retire early maybe I'd consider settling there but there are plenty of other places outside of CA I could say the same for. I've traveled and lived in many states coast to coast and to me there's no perfect place.

I would love to one day live in some smaller northern city, like Eurecka or something. I love the state, but I have no network or anything out there. Still, I would love to live so close to all the stuff I idolized as a youth. Will have to just settle for visiting every few years or so.
