Opinion California on fire

Yea, it is kind of a big deal this year, but don't go feeling anything special about yourself for mostly ignoring it. Our Governor, Mayor, Congressional Reps, Fire Chiefs, and every other person in a leadership position did the same.

Yeahbive since done some reading and it looks like some people fucked up bad

Huh? Do you know anything at all about American history? Fire departments were one of the worst, for a long time hiring the "best" meant hiring only whites.

I'm not going to up school you further here but if you are really interested in the subject you should bone up on history.

So you honestly believe a fire dept. in our year of the lord 2025 would refuse to hire a 6'5" tall large black man? Let's not pretend a 5'3" overweight lesbian is the same thing.

Unlikely when they're 4 star generals, that takes a long time.

Certainly at one point they could. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Sure. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Yea, the loss here is extreme with multiple entire neighborhoods completely burned to the ground. Not just homes in the hills like previous years, but the whole city. Not just blocks and blocks of homes, but the Ralphs, the Gelsons, the Bank of America, all of it!

There are a lot of people here, most of which are not Paris Hilton or Mel Gibson, that have lost everything and have a lot of suffering ahead of them. It isn't about pointing fingers at people for fucking up, but considering your original point that no one can honestly be surprised by fires in LA along with the huge taxation rates we pay in this state, we deserve better foresight and preparation from these people in leadership positions than we are getting.

PBD had a gentleman on that was explaining why the insurance companies pulled their insurance. State farm said it was because LA cut their brush clearing from the budget. So basically LA turned into a giant tinder bundle.

That is exactly what happened as well as newsom's horrible water Management.

I would ask you to source that it was neglected in anyway, but you would just gish gallop some bullshit off twitter.

You seem very naïve as to the scale of this blaze, which isn't surprising since your entire view has been shaped by a 900 pixel images off social media.

-----------------------------------
I mean, it's all over the news, including Left leaning outlets. The scale is no excuse for no evacuation plans, evacuation routes manned by Police, a cut FD budget in an area prone to fires. An empty reservoir during peak fire danger months, non-tested hydrants, not enough choppers and digging equipment, no plan to clear brush and tinder like other areas and countries do. There are so many things that point to incompetence here. What is wrong with pointing it out so it does not repeat itself. The Mayor and Governor did not do the things needed to curb some of the destruction. There are experts on CNN right now saying what should have been done and what The Mayor, Chief, and Governor WERE warned about.

Disagree. The reason we have affirmative action is partly because how government organizations like fire departments have have had significant problems racially integrating. Most everyone agrees that the racial makeup of things like fire departments and police departments should loosely reflect the racial makeup of the communities they serve.
You don't truly believe that. No one is that stupid. No one cares what color or gender you are if you are the best person for the job. Lowering requirements to get diversity is dangerous. The Fire Chief is a DEI hire and focuses on DEI hires....listen to her....she is full of shit and because of her ideals she puts lives at risk. You want people QUALIFIED for what they can do, not for what they look like. Keep DEI where peoples lives aren't at risk. True equality means a woman should have to life what a man has to. I don't care what color or who you like to fuck. Requirements need to be the same. The tests should all reflect performance only.

yea, Trump made that point years ago that there are preventative things like brush clearing and controlled burns that could be done by fire departments during their down time to help prevent these wildfires. I am not a fire expert so don't know how much that matters but am highly inclined to believe State Farm's reasoning is complete nonsense, but obviously very smart business.

There is not a lot of brush to clear in those Pacific Palisades neighborhoods that got wiped out. Those fires are still burning massively with very little containment right now, but the huge difference is the winds, particularly the westward, Santa Ana winds that blew embers miles to the west into heavily populated areas have died down now so the fire is behaving normally, burning slowly and evenly toward the east, stopping at the defined fire breaks allowing the air drops to eat away at it.

When Bannon’s podcast that is on now is available to link, I will need to quote you with it. The intro, which was clips of MSNBC was crazy. Literally a bunch of soyboys saying it is all because of fossil fuels, and nothing to do with leadership, and people are wrong to blame California leadership.

It is pretty shocking MSNBc thinks they can having a bunch of scrawny white dudes saying not to blame anyone other than fossil fuels is going to convince people it has nothing to do with California democrats.

They're calling for Martial Law in California. They're setting fires, robbing, looting, killing, and raping instead of helping each other.

This shit is looking like Mad Max

They're demonic. They connected the fires on a map and it formed a pentagram. I can't post pics here. Each location where the fires started, draw a line to the next location. The fires made a huge ass pentagram.

do you think it benefits anyone to act like we still live in the 1950s ?
I thought y'all wanted to make America great again, isn't you guys that want to go back to the 50's? Then you can hire only white people.

You need to take a look at yourself, you want to pretend it's 1950.

Gayvin doing all he can to lose what little support he has Left.

I wouldn’t believe any of it.

But with California’s shitty permit system and how long they take, there will be people desperate enough to take the money from low ball offers and run

And the State is in BIG trouble financial wise… they ran the insurance companies off with cost controls and people ended up with the the State run insurance… which predictably, has zero idea what it’s doing and is now FUCKED
