Cain = cabron?

great fighter in a weaker division that was insaaaaaaaanely overrated by so many for so fucking long that i actually have to take a moment to remember it's just cunty fans and he comes off a good bloke who i am happy to see find some post-career success in pro-wrestling.

also, unintentionally hindered cormier's status as legitimately(unlike cain) one of the greatest hw's of all time.

Overrated. Built a name off beating the same 2 fighters 4 times. Bigfoot 2X, Jds 2X... what a resume.

Lost in a very legit way to JDS once, Werdum, and Francis, even though his fans couldnt admit it.

There's almost a Yoel Romero aspect where Ngannou and JDS got hype from the lucky fights.

I will remember him as kabobs mentor.

he kabobbed better than kabob.

One of the HW belt holders no better or worse than most of them. I do not place him in the top 5.

the guy who some people had the nerve to call GOAT despite not being able to go 1 fight with out needing major surgery+rehab

the guy that was really really great, so long as he was fighting either JDS or Bigfoot.

which he would have left on a W and not getting wrecked on ESPN in 20 seconds

He had some great fights, I was excited to see him fight then injures followed up by some lackluster fights and then gone.

Cain definitely ended hemis career on a low.

His highest point was the jds2 fight.

Honestly, all in all a kind of forgettable champion, never had a continuous run.

Cain in his prime was one of the best heavyweights MMA has seen, as for the best maybe he was but we don't know for sure. He is very accomplished and Cain is a class act.

"Had Cain not been so injury prone, I have little doubt he’d be considered the GOAT heavyweight right now. . . . Cain’s career was only half what you would hope for and, looking back on his record, it doesn’t hold as well as it once appeared. There’s a three-year period where he fought five times but only fought JDS and “Bigfoot” Silva. He doesn’t have the variety or quality of wins you’d expect from a GOAT candidate. Just based on what he accomplished, I’m not even sure he’s in the top-5, which is stunning to think about. For me I have the list as Fedor, Stipe, Nog, Werdum, and then I guess Cain but if you wanted to argue any number of other heavyweights with longer and more robust resumes, I won’t fault you. I even think there’s a pretty good case for JDS to be ahead of him if he fights a few more years. Man, MMA is wild!" --Jed Meshew

good fighter, too many injuries, no cardio asides sea level held events

One of the greatest HWs of all time, but career hampered and cut short by being injury prone.

Cain vs JDS 2 was the pinnacle of HW cardio. Cain was spamming takedowns for several rounds and then still setting the pace against JDS, one of the most athletic HWs.

Today HWs can barely move after 1 round. Even top fights like Stipe/DC 2 look bad from that point of view when they go over 2 rounds.
