I'm ok with the fights all I'm saying he's being overhyped on purpose by the UFC. The commentators was all over Buckley's nuts the entire fight it was pathetic.

What are they to say when a fighter looks good during their fight?

Buckley said he wanted the fight to go into the 4th or 5th to see how he felt in those rounds. I actually believe this in a way.

There is no emulation of that big show 5 round experience, you just need to do it. I think no doubt he would have been happy with a round 1 KO but was mindful not to punch himself out. His gas tank looked great from what we saw.

exactly, buckley couldn't finish alex morono, fought WB who was exiting the pocket with his hands down and he was losing most of that fight too, did nothing against drained ruziboev until the 3rd round where he clipped him. Dude got a very fortunate set of matchups to get to the top 5, if they gave him Ian Garry or Geoff neal who can actually strike and aren't geriatric then he'd be toast. Heck Michael morales probably beats him

Imo navigating the top 25-10 can be harder than top 10 match ups if you catch an aging division.

He's good, but beating them 2 at this point of there careers still leaves big questions to be answered. The UFC is doing a good job of keeping the top prospects away from each other in the WW division and having them feed off aging vets.

This is why I never liked immediate rematches with champions because even if they lose again they’re ranked in top 5, and anyone who takes them out after that never ever gets credit, you’re seeing it now with how they treat Buckley. There’s no running away from it now though. Shavkat is fighting Belal, Usman vs Maddalena, Buckley/Brady vs Edward’s. This occurs in every division though, Jones gets shit on for fighting ranked top 5 fighters like the Shoguns, Jackson’s and Machida and people still saying those are out of their primes.

It's the UFCs model to keep these older established guys in the top 10 as long as possible to cash in on multiple years of investment and promotion that has been pumped into them. 9fans are familiar with them and will tune in.
