Buckley is improving but..

I picked Buckley because if he can beat the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man he should beat a yappy inactive wrestler.

Amazing run, super active fighter and exciting style.
I remember watching him get chinned so many times at 85, and i always thought he and Curtis, and Gastelum are waaay too undersized for middlweight.
Ever since the Holland KO he's progressively got better and better. He is doing really well at 170 and could very well crack the top 5.

How far can he go?
But what? You just explained all the reasons why there should be no but. The logic in your post sounds entirely reasonable, so why use a title like that?

"But How far can he go" Dont get too hung up on the details.

He's doing well, but let's see him against a Top 10 WW who's not at least 4-5 years past his prime.

Not a fan of Brady myself but he is younger and has the size. Burns and Usman I could see that, they are on the smaller size and a little worn. JDM and Garry would starch him, he just doesn't have the chin. The others I agree are too skilled for him

Garry can't starch anything wth u talking about. JDM would be 50:50

I'm not even sure he would have beat Colby if the fight wasn't stopped..
I don't know how you can watch that fight and have that opinion, Colby was getting battered and did very little besides survive. He was down two rounds and was almost certainly on his way to being down three before the fight was stopped. He would have needed a finish and even in his prime he was never a finisher and has clearly regressed quite a bit since then. It's fighting so you never know how things would have played out but Colby showed nothing that suggested he a had real path to victory.

Fast, accurate and powerful. Everything else I'm not too sure. Colby clearly isn't the same fighter anymore and can Buckley go 5 full hard rounds? He might get a huge wakeup call if he faces Belal.

Colby legit looked like a walking punching bag. He couldn't commit to anything. All his best traits weren't being displayed in this fight and it has nothing to do with Buckley punching him in the face

Everyone talking about “Colby could have come back in the championship rounds” is delusional. Barring the obvious that theoretically anything can happen. Reasonably speaking Buckley was up 3 rounds through pure dominance. Even Colby’s best trait (his cardio) would have been lacking considering the “money in the bank” body shots that Buckley was putting on him all night. I’ve never seen any of Colby’s opponents punish his body that consistently for 3 rounds. I saw a fading Colby in there battered and bloody fighting to survive and a Buckley that was hunting for his finish him moment. It was all but a forgone conclusion.

Buckley looked fantastic. I’m excited to see how he matches up against the top5. He deserves a big time marquee matchup after that performance capping off an amazing year for him at WW.

Your chin doesn't improve by dropping weight. Fun style but I don't see him beating many of the guys in front of him in the rankings
There's always the chance he was able to retaine his chin weight, but made cuts elsewhere (his hair is shorter for instance...)

Colby was getting beat up toward the end of round 3, so where is this narrative that it was turning around?

What does the comeback thing even mean? Colby having good cardio doesn't save that he has no finishing ability. He's going to finish a guy who beat him badly, was damaging him, while he is one eyed and has not finished an opponent since 2016?

Yeah, Buckley's body work was money. You love to see it.

WW is old that's why he's having success. Colby, Usman, Burns, Wonderboy, these guys are on their way out and there's not much on the way up to fill in. Buckley is part of the transitional period.

I'd favor Buckley over Sean Brady, Gilbert Burns, and Usman. I think JDM and Ian Cuckold are toss ups and only favor Leon, Shavkat and Belal over him.

We almost had “Buck vs. Cuck”. That would have answered a lot more questions about both imo.
