Buchecha is a free agent should UFC sign him?

No he's pretty trash at MMA. One of those BJJ guys who's only good at BJJ and nothing else. See Kron Gracie.

Heavyweights would eat him up. Match him up with Derrick Lewis and find out.
He's like an uber Jailton with GnP, most UFC HWs would be in deep trouble. They should absolutely sign him.

They’d have snapped him up already if he was a striker.

Absolutely. HW is a trash heap. And if he's on the sauce, give him 6 months to cycle off and he can compete at LHW OR MW.

Yeah if he's available they should absolutely sign him. His only loss is a competitive fight with Reug Reug which has aged well. Other than that he'd been demolishing people.

HW can use all the depth it can get, so yeah absolutely. They shouldnt have cut Romanov and Karl Williams either. Even Robelis, as bad as he was, could still have had some interesting stylistic match ups with Lewis, Rozenstruik, Tai, a potential HW Johnny Walker etc etc.

One of the most decorated bjj players has entered free agency. He's beaten a good wrestler named amir alikhabari but got gnped by another African wrestler named reug reug. He has a big following among bjj practicioners so he'd be an interesting signing in the heavyweight division.
Ciryl Gane vs Buchecha would be an interesting fight.

Nah....these "BJJ specialists" have no place in MMA. He'd do no better than Jon Olav Einemo or Roger Gracie.

Tbf on paper Aliakbari as a world class wrestler should have been a nightmare matchup for him and in retrospect I think it was Chatri trying to set him up to lose on the way out, but he took him down and beat him pretty easily.

I would say why not, I doubt he'll do much but he can definitely beat all of the lower level guys.

Yeah, think he'd beat guys like Spivac as well too - a decent enough HW.
Exactly if Jailton can drag these bums down and have his way with them why can't Buchecha.
Imo the most interesting matchup is against gane. Both are incomplete at the other's strength. I would slightly favor Buchecha though

There’s been room for one dimensional fighters in the heavyweight division for a while now.

Dude lost to Reug Reug.

what people are forgetting when they keep saying "they should sign him because HW division is weak" isn't if he's good enough to be signed, it's if his price that he's asking is worth them paying. that's always the thing with UFC. you can be as good as their HW champion, but if you're asking for more than they calculate you're worth they won't do business.

so either he signs for peanuts, and takes a huge risk hoping he catches fire and can renegotiate later on when he explodes onto the scene. or he somehow makes himself an undeniable talent outside of UFC that matches what he's asking, because i have a feeling someone like him isn't going to want a 10/10 contract or want to sign up for Dana Cantender series.

and also, as i mentioned, the testing. can he even pass it.

The way the market changed this last couple of years he can probably make more money going back to grappling than sticking to mma.

With the PFL/Bellator implosion, taking "peanuts" from the UFC would be his best shot to have a real career in MMA, even if it's the 10/10 offered to the contender's guys. His MMA career started and stalled with the lack of fights in ONE, he's already 34 and only fought 2 times the last 2 and half years.

BTW, I think he could be a top 10 HW in the UFC
