$60K for the fight alone - with sponsorship money it'll be more like $100K, or close to it.

That sounds like damn good money to me.

With one more fight this year for each, that'll for sure put them over the 6 figure salary mark.

If a fighter goes out there and puts on a good show and wins the crowd, they are rewarded heavily. If they suck, they are paid crap, what they deserve.

Good money, but not good when compared to other sports.

matt had fotn and potn right? so banking 100k in post fight bonusses regardless of the rest?

How exactly do you know that they are each making over $40k in sponsorship money? I highly doubt that. What do bonuses have to do with the current pay scale? It's called bonus money. According to your logic, every fighter is highly paid because 3 or 4 fighters receive these bonuses on each card... Good try....

It is very good money compared with other high level sports and not very good when compared with yet another set of high level sports.

How big a bonus would Walmart have to give its CEO before it was enough to prove they do not under pay their employees??

Hey cool, 2-4 fighters per card get paid well, let's ignore the other 20 fighters on each card...

the fuck .Brown has 7 fight win streak and has been exciting in every fight... and all finishes...

he's underpaid if silva is making same base...

$60k aint shit when it comes to brain damage. Brown is lucky he only got stomach damage

Well if the 20 other fighters on the card put on a good show and win the crowd, then they'll get a raise come time to renegotiate their contract.

TS didn't mention their actual base pay. It wouldn't surprise me if Silva was making more than Brown. The UFC loves them some Silva.

Most people are upset about the lower tier fighters who make $8K/$8K. It still pays more than most MMA organisations, considering many are relative unknowns, but people just have an expectation of the 'premier' MMA organisation to pay higher. It might not be realistic to do so, but if you're viewed as the best in the business a belief in a higher 'standard' of pay comes along with it.

When you factor in taxes. paying off coaches etc,etc that goes down considerably

That sounds more like an objection to the sport itself, rather than an objection to pay.

100k minus taxes, agent fees, training fees, nutrition fees, and travelling fees. You consider that good money? You realize there are benchwarmers in soccer's top leagues that get paid over 100k a WEEK (not including sponsorships) right? They also don't have to put their life on the line inside of a cage.

What about the other fighters though?

Also, that's crap compare to other sports. Isn't the ufc a 3 billion dollar company?

Brown is lucky he's even in the UFC, he should have been cut back in 2011.

The UFC did him a favor letting him stay. They gambled on him and now he's paying off.

TS, are you one of those people who views a snowstorm as evidence that global warming isn't real?
