'Contender' referred to role and the performance, not the strength of the actors other body of work. You don't give knockout of the night bonuses to someone who didn't land a knockout just because he usually does.

Kidman for example was fantastic in the others if you haven't seen it btw. Better than Berry by a country mile IMO.
