Are you aware that Hillary isn't the topic of this thread?

Cliffs: get over it. She lost.

Cliffs: get over it. Trump won.

Quit crying about Russia. I know you are desperate but it is absolutely pathetic Sadmick.

Nothing will come of this except the usual phony outrage and the real disappointment when you loons realize you are all worked up for nothing once again.

You guys don't even know what you are supposed to be outraged about. What good little sheep you are. Pathetic and brainwashed.

"Here is a really long article with a lot of words that proves my point." No. It just proves that you can't think for yourself and believe slander that will eventually be retracted quietly (months later) on page 39 when no one is paying attention.

For example, they could have conspired and coordinated a strategy wherein they urged (or possibly even aided) the Russians to hack bodies like the DNC and the computers (issued or privately owned) of other American government employees in order to mine for damaging material to Clinton, and also directed the Russians to launder this "counter-intelligence", as Trump's own top intelligence officials have described it, through Wikileaks, and specifically to distribute it drip by drip in a fashion that would prove not earnestly noble with regard to pure transparency, but that would have a deliberate, maximized political impact against one of our nation's two ruling parties.

If Trump accepted money, or perhaps made promises conducive to Russians that he could influence from the position of President, then this could prove to be possibly the greatest political scandal in American history: greater than Watergate, Iran Contra, the Teapot Dome Scandal, the Credit Mobilier scandal, the Whiskey Ring, or anything involving a President and his penis.

Donald knew, of course.

The tell is how he always says some shit to protect himself from whatever it was his campaign was doing, trying to put distance between himself and their activities.

"I can only speak for myself." He says.

Mother fucker that means you knew all along and were just playing dumb.

I saw an article that discussed how this is the same thing that led to Watergate impeachment.

I'm discussing a current event that involves Russia. I didn't fabricate this, nor did I have any hand in Trump Jr.'s decision to attend that meeting, or direct any of his other top officials to repeatedly and furtively meet with them, then later cover it up.

This whole Time I've been under the impression tha @WiolentOne and @WiolentWandyFan are the same person.

Is this not true, and is the latter banned?

This is fucking crazy.
It's actually kind of painful to try to wrap my head around this and I'm actually hoping it's bullshit or something.

I really, really don't want a President Pence.

Why do a lot a people don't like Pence? Traditional politician?

Evangelical conservative. They're their own branch of Republicans. Those sympathetic to this general platform only make up about 1/3 of the party these days. They ruled it for much of the latter half of the 20th century despite that this cycle of the Republican party typically points to Barry Goldwater as its spiritual father, and he often vented frustration with the intellectual character of this religious dimension.

The Americans who would like Pence-- prefer him to Trump-- are those who voted for Ted Cruz.

... tired of LARPing ..

This stuff?

@WiolentOne raises a wonderful point. This is a highly important question to ask. I hope they probe it in great depth in coming days. For the American people to be enlightened with greater specificity it is critical that our media explores it in more depth.

Did Donald Trump Jr. Break the Law?

The answer could come down to a provision in campaign-finance regulation.

Yeah I'm now more convinced than ever this is a nothing burger. They are really stretching the applicability of this law that bars "contribution or donation".

You interested in an av/sig bet that this is a nothingburger?

LARPers gonna LARP.

This is nothing. No crimes were commited. It is funny seeing Hillary supporters angry about a meeting with someone that worked for the Russian gov 14 years ago.

These are the same phonies that were fine with Hillary selling influence to Saudi etc as well as paying protesters to cause violence and busing people across state lines to vote.

They have the nerve to feign outrage about this? Too good.

Why does Hilary clinton being corrupt somehow absolve the Trump team? The problem is not if the woman in question was a Russian lawyer, she was not. The problem is that Donald Trump Jr. thought she was, thought she, as a representative of a hostile foreign government, would give him damaging info on the Clinton campaign to influence the election.

sourcing vox and the atlantic, what could go wrong. hell might as well add
independent, business insider, newsweek, huffpost, media matters

I'm completely desensitized to all these Russia headlines. Pretty sure most of America is too. There is a reason why the DA's office builds a case before pressing charges!

The Hill and the WSJ have also been cited. Nevertheless, it doesn't get more diehard than this:

National Review: There Is Now Evidence that Senior Trump Officials Attempted to Collude With Russia

David French of the National Review said:
Donald Trump Jr.’s e-mails are damning.

Just hours ago, Donald Trump Jr. released one of the more astounding e-mail chains of the entire Russia controversy. The end result is that Americans may now be introduced to the term “attempted collusion.” Or, perhaps more accurately (based on present information), “failed collusion.” In other words, there now exists evidence that senior members of the Trump campaign tried unsuccessfully to facilitate Russian government efforts to defeat Hillary Clinton....

Sadly, at this point it's sort of like the BLM movement

People just assume it's another nothingburger because thus far we've had nothing but nothingburgers.

Weird. That word isn't in my dictionary. Maybe it's exclusive to the "Zionist Scum" edition for English on your bedside table. I tend to deal in non-imaginary terms, so I'm afraid I won't spin well in this casino. Gambling is a lottery, and the lottery-- as my wealthy maternal grandfather used to say-- is the "idiot tax".

The Question Hanging Over Washington: Did Donald Trump Jr. Break The Law?

President Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. speaks at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland on July 19. On Tuesday Trump Jr. released an email exchange he had about meeting with a Russian lawyer earlier that summer.

When Donald Trump Jr. met with a Russian lawyer last June, did he break any U.S. laws?

That question hung over Washington on Tuesday after President Trump's son released an email exchange about the meeting. The emails appear to confirm he was enthusiastic about an offer of foreign help to attack his father's political opponent, Democrat Hillary Clinton.

The problem is that a federal law says foreign nationals cannot "directly or indirectly" give a "thing of value" to American political campaigns. Moreover, the law says no one is allowed to "solicit, accept, or receive" any thing of value from a foreign national to help a candidate.

Donald Trump Jr.'s Emails About Meeting With Russian Lawyer, Annotated

Trump Jr.'s attorney Alan Futerfas says "Don Jr. did nothing wrong," but Robert Bauer, a Democratic campaign finance lawyer, says the law is not on Trump Jr.'s side.

"This is a case where a campaign may have been openly courting support from a foreign national in trying win an election. And that is squarely prohibited by the federal campaign finance laws," Bauer said.

The emails at issue were exchanged last June between Trump Jr. and Rob Goldstone, a longtime associate.

Trump Jr. Says 'In Retrospect' He Would Have Handled Russia Meeting Differently

Goldstone offered to serve as an intermediary who could connect Trump Jr. with a Russian official who had information "that would incriminate Hillary [Clinton] ... and would be very useful to your father."

Trump Jr. responded by saying, "If it's what you say [then] I love it especially later in the summer."

Trump Jr. then not only agreed to the meeting, but also looped in his brother-in-law Jared Kushner and the former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort. The three of them met with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya on June 9, 2016.

Velenitskaya appeared on NBC News on Tuesday morning, saying she actually had wanted to discuss U.S.-Russian adoption policies, and had no political opposition research to offer the three Americans who came to see her. She added: "It's quite possible they were looking for such information. They wanted it so badly."

Emails Show Trump Jr. Knew Russia Was Working To Support Trump Campaign

So the meeting happened in early June, and then the following month, hacked documents from the Democratic National Committee appeared online. Democrats accused the Trump campaign of colluding with the Russian hackers to get those records.

Trump Jr. went on CNN in late July to dismiss the idea that the Trump campaign would do such a thing. "I mean, I can't think of bigger lies — but that exactly goes to show you what the DNC and what the Clinton camp will do. They will lie and do anything to win," he said.

And the candidate himself, Donald Trump, wondered aloud whether Russian hackers could dig up emails from Clinton's server.

"Russia, if you are listening: I hope you're able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing," Trump said.

Bauer said that Trump Jr.'s email exchange with Goldstone confirms that the Trump campaign was actively trying to get help from Russians. And he notes that foreign nationals don't get First Amendment free-speech rights in U.S. elections, so the law's prohibitions on such help are very strict.

After Trump Jr.'s surprising release of his email exchange, White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders read a statement from President Trump: "My son is a high-quality person, and I applaud his transparency."
