I can agree that up until now there's been precious little substance to this story, but this could end up being the smoking gun.

For what crime?

The "collusion" everyone has been talking about till now was focused on Russia hacking the DNC. The DNC had already been hacked by the time this meeting took place. So this can't be the smoking on that collusion. So when people are saying "collusion" now, they are really talking about colluding to do something different than they were earlier. They are talking about colluding to just receive info on Hillary, which is really only a crime if they traded policy promises or money for it, which there is no evidence that they did.

Maybe. It's just not my first impression of this story.

It always seems like the biggest scandal ever. I'll even admit that the "classified intel" story had me going a little bit.

It's always the same play though.

Libs scream "This is the crime of century!", then it turns out that it's not, and they look for another headline. Same thing here. He met with a lawyer over some alleged info(among other things). Even if some intel was handed over(which has been denied), what does it even matter? Is there really any crime that took place? No. You got some dishonesty here and there, and some bad press. That's it. And that's if information was given to the Trump campaign. If it wasn't, it's simply a meeting with a Russian.


Let Mueller tell you what's what. If he finds that something was wrong, so be it. Until then, it's just another headline.
