Here’s some recent sparring. I have a fight this Saturday so I’m excited. Just starting going back to the boxing gym this month, since the coach asked me if I wanted to fight. It’s only been coming together this past week or so lol

Working on being less stiff, more feints, and better head movement.

This one the first round is whatever. The 2nd and 3rd round with a new opponent is where it heats up a little more

I dont know if you're just rusty but it seems you're relying on distance changes mostly for defense. Shots get past your hands and you dont move your head. And the primary distance change is to step back, however you're not often the taller guy with longer reach. So I saw a lot of moments where you either remain at middle distance after getting hit, or step back into the end of the punch.

Your foot pressure would do really well for you if you jabbed, then made some kind of defensive movement, and then threw your punches.

Here I'll give a throwback to my guy Cyclone Mike, notice how he changes elevation or makes a defensive move before he throws in this bout:

I’m not rusty per se, just not a lot of head movement.
I should work the level changes when I’m closer and pressure, thanks.

Damn he dips every time. Some crazy dedication to the body work

You can also change speed. Don't always pressure at the same pace. And throw when the other guy is throwing, not when they're done and ready to defend. Isaac Cruz is good at both of those as well as using the high-guard to tempt his opponent to punch so he can counter from the front foot:

ducking before you punch is just inviting an uppercut or blow to the top of the head. there's a reason nobody does that past the little leagues

Ok, thank you for the advice sinister

Which one are you how should i guess

I’m the one consistently in all the videos. Blue winning set
Ok. Well i am no expert but it seems to me that you could benefit a bit by tightening your guard, tucking your chin more and shifting your balance a bit more on the front foot.

Many shots got through your guard. Also, your shots could be more compact.

However overall I think you are doing good. Good speed and spirit.

Got the win, I’m very happy. Basically fought like how I sparred. I knew it was too late to make any real changes this close to the fight, especially when it’s something like head movement. Could have done more feints.
One thing I did is go more to the body though.

Had a little trouble in the beginning of the first. Wasn’t expecting a southpaw, and haven’t trained with one this whole month. The distance definitely had me reaching and off balance early

Thanks to everyone for the comments and support!
