Boxing Discussion VIII

4-2 Bud through 6 imo. Canelo has to force more action, on the outside he's just getting outboxed.

5-3 Bud through 8 imo.

I have it 6-4 Bud. Commentary making it seem more lopsided than that.

115-113 Crawford was my scorecard.

Boy was l wrong! Unbelievable performance by Bud. He was better in every aspect. That wasnt a washed Canelo in there. Crawford wore the weight well. He was fast and strong. Brilliant fight.

I couldn't give Canelo more than 3 rounds.

I don't score boxing fights as often so I'll absolutely grant that I might be less dialed in. I thought Canelo landed a lot of good body shots that Bud just wore and was never affected by at all. I don't necessarily know how much to weigh those vs the way superior head punches Bud was landing.

Considering poking Paro by KO in a couple of hours vs this undefeated 34-year-old French passenger. + money

Anyway Joshua doesn't finish Jake Paul in this? -350 seems generous. I wouldn't be surprised if he kills him with a body shot to make it look better for Paul.

There are ways he can prolong the fight (not throwing punches, excessive clinching) but once he tries to box with AJ he is going to get knocked out shortly thereafter. He doesn't have the skills to compete on a technical level, the athleticism to compete on a physical level, nor the power to keep AJ from pressuring and breaking him down if it comes to that.

JP is a jab merchant with hands that are not fast enough for elite boxing, even HW, so after a few attempts I expect AJ will land a counter right hand that puts him out. I think it will be sometime in the second minute but it could be the first as its an enormous mismatch on both a technical and physical level.

Conservatively the fight goes less than 10% of the time imo.

I agree that this is definitely an "AJ can end this any minute he wants to" type of fight. Which is why I ask myself "how are they gonna cook this?"
My theory is that the Over is set to 2.5rds, so AJ will carry him past that point and end it whenever he wants after that. He might even dick around and take it to a decision.
Regardless, I'm betting the Over and hoping I'm correct but I wouldn't be surprised if AJ just starches him the same way he did Francis.

AJ dropped Ngannou, a 6"4 272lb explosive athlete with a granite chin, three times and put him away within two rounds. He didn't carry Ngannou whatsoever.

JP is not built to take power shots from an elite opponent with the size, speed, and explosive power of Joshua. He also doesn't have the hand speed to throw with Joshua and as soon as he throws a few lazy jabs he is going to eat a counter right hand that puts him out.

Jake paul is getting slept early,
just making it to the fight is a win for him.

Getting koed by a anthony joshua is not gonna hurt his stock at all, cancel your plane tickets to the narrative nation.

Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua

I have multiple PrizePicks teams that need Jake/AJ O2.5 rounds to cash the last leg.

I also put a straight bet on Anderson Silva to beat Tyron Woodley on the same card, via the prediction market section of PrizePicks called TEAMS.

I'm hoping hoping PrizePicks releases fight totals in their teams section tomorrow or Friday, but they'll likely only have the ML available.

I don't understand how anyone believes there is going to be mutual combat in this fight.
