Boxing Discussion VIII

For which fight?
For Lomachenko - Linares.
Linares looks like a tough guy but he is fighting professionally from 2002. Last time he was knocked out was in 2012, the odds seems correct after some more study. Maybe Lomachenko DEC @2.62?

Initially i liked KO then baulked & has dropped to 1.72 from 1.80 - I expect it to keep dropping but if I can get decision at 3.00+ I think that is the play

Lomachenko DEC @ 2.88 price is far more appealing than TKO. Linares is a good size, great footwork and I can’t see him getting so outboxed he quits, his fragile hands are the only real worry but as much as I love both guys I don’t think Loma has the pop to stop him, so barring injury points looks good. Could get very interesting if Loma cuts in the first few rounds which certainly isn’t out of the question.

i think linares has questionable skin and he could open up as loma, although not powerful, has high output and a high connect percentage.

but if linares skin holds up i tbelieve he goes 12, hes a legit 135 with power in both hands. he could also have a seven pound weight advantage on fight night(jorge 145 against gesta, loma 138 9AM rehydration clause against rigo) and vasyl admitted that salidos weight affected him. im thinking about playing jorge at +1000, i dont think the odds are correct and there might be a middle opportunity sometime in the fight. hopkins is obviously biased but i agree that linares has one more fight in him and he will be prepared to go to war

Surprised to see so many thinking Loma vs linares goes 12.

Loma has stopped better fighters rather easily.

I have medium sized wagers ...

One on Loma to win ITD @ -120

And this fight will not see 10.5 rounds @ +120.

Linares has been stopped a couple times already by inferior boxers...

I say Loma wins TKO in the 8th

Such as....?

He made Rigo and Walters quit, even then Walters is not better than Linares and Rigo doesn’t belong at that weight. He hasn’t actually “stopped” anyone as good as Linares and I don’t see Linares getting so badly outclassed that he quits unless issues with his hands flare up again.

2.88 for a Loma DEC and even 2.62 for the fight to go the distance both look far more appealing to me.

Good luck to you dude.

I just believe Loma is the far superior fighter and will outclass linares .
I stand by my tko in 8.
I've been wrong before.

Best of luck to you too, I’m by no means slating your play, if Loma makes Linares quit or stops him then it’s a huge statement and his stock goes up even higher, just don’t agree that Loma has stopped anyone better than Linares.

Linares looked pretty bad last fight IMO. I think the mileage is catching up with him

Debut on here after hovvering for a while, I took Loma by KO @ 1.83 with 365 when the line was released was a great price for me which I snapped at Linares looked exceptional against the ultimately European level Anthony Crolla, but let's not forget Kevin Mitchell, yes Kevin Mitchell had him in trouble.

Linares doesn't have Salas in his corner this time, will that be a factor? I think so, look at Linares most recent opponents any world beaters on there? No he still went the distance with most of them, honestly Loma is probably the best boxer on the planet right now, with Linares losing a step, his propensity to cut, his long time trainer out of the corner, his less than stellar run of recent opponents only leads me to one conclusion, Loma ends it within the distance. Linares is a world level fighter against anyone but Garcia & Loma i'd pick him but this time, Loma's angles, accuracy & relentlessness all point towards an ending before the final bell for me.

While I'm on it Hughie Fury wins by KO vs Sam Sexton & I think he does it convincingly with the 1st 6. You can look at his KO% & his last performance but Fury knows he now needs to make a statement, Sexton was getting clipped & blowing against the uber shite Gary Cornish last time, reports say he's being paid a shit load for this fight to effectively surrender his belt, if Fury chooses to cruise to a 12 round win against and immobile, inactive & aging Sexton his credibility will shot, Fury to come out of the blocks firing, Fury 1-6 @ 3.0 with Hills is my take

Here he is! Welcome

if jorges skin holds up, a big if, linares 50/1 rds 10-12 could be a hedgeable line in the final four and a half minutes of the fight

linares decision 17/1 as well.

I like the most Loma dec + 200 or so

While Linares is big and strong enough to be there for 12 rounds, I don't think he has the speed to hurt Lomachenko. He has the power, but he will have a long night of being ran around.
