And we complain about the judging in mma.

Exactly, 3 fights in the past month in Boxing have been horrendous! Not just robberies but questioning if they filled out the wrong guy kind of robbery.

So it turns out it really was scored for Haskins... absolutely nuts.

Kov as a dog lookin good?

For sure. Even the late rounds were close. I was on Ward first time and honestly after rewatching it about 6 times feel incredibly lucky it cashed.

Throwing some down on Herrera against Brandon Rios tonight. Based purely on the Rios coming out of "retirement" for around 17 months, his past performances before he retired and Herrera having the size advantage.

Herrera moves pretty well and has good power so he could make it interesting. Don't get me wrong even with the doubts regarding Rios he is the superior boxer and he very likely dusts Herrera in 6 but crazier things have happened and the question marks surrounding him are enough to make me bite at these odds on Herrera.

I was just looking at this myself for some degen action tonight, especially with a boxer coming back from a long layoff. What stake and odds did you get, Cr0w? I bit for half a unit.

Aaron Herrera (+1190) vs Brandon Rios $50.00 for $595.00

I think the advantage is all to the more skilled technical boxer in Ward this time having fought Kovalev once already and knowing how he fights and hits. Ward did get caught and dropped early, but he looked better in the second half of the bout in spite of it and got the decision anyway. Unless Kovalev hurts him badly I think Ward will likely win again, probably by an even wider decision. The current moneyline isn't unreasonable in my opinion. Time for a man sized bet.

Andre Ward (-148) vs Sergey Kovalev $740.00 for $500.00

So boxing starts at 7pm in UK on Sat through to midnight on Boxnation. At 10pm Sky Sports is showing the Paul Smith fight in Germany. Then we have Ward after. So including the UFC we have literally 18 hours of betting on Sat!

Thats ballsy against a guy who got whooped thoroughly last fight i must say

I've got 4.5 units on Ward to win 3U (-150) for a lot of the same reasons @JimGunn pointed out.

I think Ward is the best boxer in the world right now.

i think ward is going to be even or plus money after the third round. i believe his gameplan is going to be just like the first fight where he comes on late after giving up the first part of the fight where sergey is most dangerous

The way you worded it is a little confusing, but I take it you think Ward got whooped last time? I was actually on Ward pre-fight last time as a slight favorite, but live bet Kovalev in the mid-rounds even bigger, so I thought Kovalev was slightly ahead especially with the early knockdown by the time it got to the mid to later rounds. I thin Kovalev will have a harder time catching a more educated Ward this time and if he couldn't win with a knockdown, how will he win without one? By outboxing Ward?

jim, kov lost because of shitty scores

clements gave ward rounds 5-11 and only rounds 12 when he realizes that the last round was of no relevance

both john and glenn gave ward rounds 7-12

statistically, there is no chance andre won those six and seven rounds straight. none. ward probably won two of those rounds clean but the rest shoudve been split.

if this fight goes the same as the first fight it wouldnt surprise me with impartial judging kov winning 116-111 or 115-112

I recall the controversy about the scores and even I thought that Kovalev would get the decision the first time, but I draw a different conclusion than you do from these cards and what it likely means for the re-match: That judges prefer Ward's technical style to Kovalev's power punches and the same will probably happen if the fight plays out similarly. Imagine they have a competitive fight and no one gets knocked down this time. I read somewhere that the judges are different than last time, but are all Americans for what that is worth. I'm expecting it to play out kind of like last time but with no knockdown and maybe even less action.

I wouldn't touch Ward as a fave. Judges will go out of their way this time to be fair. Even if the entire fight goes like the last half last time. It will still be a super close fight. And that is assuming Kov doesn't hurt or knock down award. And that's a big assumption.

And yea. The scorecards were bad. There is no way Ward should have swept the 11th. That was a Kov round. And I had a big bet on Ward last time out
