Look at this supposedly "great" win streak. You compare this to Gaethje, Poirier of Khabib's recent records and its embarassing. So tell me again why Olives deserves to be mentioned in their category? Chandler has a stronger case IMO.

He was the LEAST hyped fighter by the UFC and his peers…. Not overrated by any measure…. Rarely favored as he climbed the ladder. Especially when you look at his bonuses, and records he set.

He was a dark horse rather than overrated.

Can you imagine if he beats Justin faster than Khabib did like he did Poirier?

The time difference doesn't mean much. That is dependent on styles more than who is better. Most of the high rated fighters who fought Khabib knew they were in trouble before the fight started and went into defensive mode from the start (except Gaethje). That is why Poirier only had 12 strikes for his entire fight versus Khabib. Poirier had over 50 strikes in more or less about the same fight distance versus Oliveira and obviously thought he could do damage and keep it on the feet.

Oliveira is a good fighter, but he will never be a champion. His wrestling and striking are decent at best, and even though his BJJ is very good, he is not unbeatable there. He also has more quit in him than Conor does, and that’s never a good thing.

The reason people are so hyped about him right now is because there isn’t anyone else to get too excited about. Most of the top 5 has lost recently so there is no one else to rally behind.

Poirer and Chandler were great wins. The only top guys he is missing currently from Khabibs generation is Mcgregor and Gaethje. He beat Tony on the ground where he is meant to be best, Lee when he was ranked after his KO of Gillespie and appeared to have turned a corner.
If he beats Gaethje he has better wins than Khabib does. The only person missing will be RDA. Oliveira destroys RDA in this day and age. If he gets past Gaethje then it's just Dariush/Islam winner to go.
Gaethje is very similar to Oliveira in that he is always dangerous, but also beatable. Gaethje isn't going to hold the belt any longer than Oliveira if he does win it.
Khabib should have stayed to cement his legacy because it's nearly gone already.
