As someone that is a minority, granted not black. If I was a child I'd rather not have to read a book describing my people as "zipperheads" or a "Jap".Really, on echaracter's name and a classic is a no-go?
Seems to me its a great oppertunity to teach kids not only the novel but the times in which thenovel was written.
I can laugh as an adult at Gran Torino during the will reading but in actuality, as a child reading something like that or hearing that via a movie.... You WILL feel like less of a person.
I remember having white friends try to tell me "Jap" isn't a racial slur becasue it stands for "Jewish American Princess" and it was rough.
