BOLD Prediction: Shevchenko loses rematch to Grasso

She won’t retire. A) She still needs to make money to facilitate her lifestyle B) Her entire life is martial arts
Its pretty bad when one of the wMMA goats and long time reigning UFC champ, can't even come close to retiring from all that income she made over those years. What a fuckin joke the ufc is.

val's just having her own "boogeywoman is coming for you!!!" moment
by getting into val's head, alexa already has the next one in the bag

If she squandered her millions it's her fault. But sure, blame the UFC. Personal responsibility doesn't exist in 2023. It's everyone else's fault.

last 2 fighters she fought were real fighters, i think she lost both fights, before she fought soccermoms. she is not the goat of wmma because of the shitty competition.
Yet she beat nunes and got robbed

She looked better against Grasso than she did Santos which is another fight the UFC might eventually push her way. It’s her most winnable lucrative fight. How is that a mistake?

Valentina is still in Her prime, she only lost for a mistake, she was dominating all the fight.... this isn't the end

She's the best Flyweight ever, the 2nd best WMMA (only Nunes gets over her)

She's old and is probably in the twilight of her career. She should get the rematch and consider retiring win or lose imo, she seems to have deteriorated a lot.

For someone so risk adverse, she is surprisingly careless. That's not all on her, the competition was nom-existent until recently, and now she has actual skilled opposition she can't expect to fuck around and win whichever way.

The rematch will tell.us everything. I harbour some hope for a legend but her consistent disregard for her opponents will mean I won't be crying no river if she loses.....

She is a little delucional, going to japan, travel.
To stay champ you need a real team and top gym like aka or Amerika top team.

Millions? These are contractors and still have to pay more taxes than normal, in that it isn't already taken from your check. Not to mention to pay for training and coaches flying out and hotel/food/etc. Not sure how the health insurance is for contractors but it can't be that great compared to an employees health insurance, not to mention 401k or whatever for retirement.

Then throw in the fact that these UFC fighters are supposed to be top athletes in the world, yet they try to live like the other top athletes who actually make money. Look at conor having to rent out yachts and cars to drive. The UFC didn't do these guys any favors by giving them only around 15% of the revenue if that. Not to mention killing their sponsors for that rebook coupons.

I think she's making a big mistake demanding an immediate rematch. If she loses twice, it will be a huge setback for her. If she rematches Taila Santos that would be another setback. Is her best bet to challenge Fiorot or Blanchfield? Rematch Nunes? Or do you think she should take a gamble and rematch Grasso right away?

Did you think Nunes was making a big mistake getting an immediate rematch against Pena?

I think Val beats Grasso 98% of the time. She looked stiff and slow. Maybe she really is getting too old, or maybe she had a bad camp/had other issues.

Regardless its absurd to think she wasn't going to get an immediate rematch, she's been one of the most dominant champions in recent memory

Sounds her finance handling is a joke.

Yet another fight that shouldn't be rematched.

Seriously why in the hell would fights get rematched JUST because they were for a title?

No other fights get rematched, even squiffy finishes and bad decisions.

Fuck main event rematches.

Given her age and history with that belt I don't really see another option but trying to get it right back. I think Val has a decent chance in a rematch but Grasso clearly does as well.

I'm not sure it's "bold" to predict the winner of the first match to win the second, though :D, but I get it it.

Why would she rather fight those others instead of Grasso? They're just as good but she doesn't get a title if she wins. She wasn't dominating Grasso, but she was less than a minute away from being up 3-1 and having the fight in the bag before whiffing on her spinning shit.

In what world was she about to be up 3-1? All 3 of the judges scored the first round for Grasso. Round 4 was relatively even until Alexa took her back and a minute of her attempting to choke her out would've clearly won her the round making it 2-2.

Her net worth is 5 million and shes made almost 3 million just from her UFC career

If shes not in position to retire, she has nobody to blame but herself

After Grasso wins the rematch she gets spanked by Fiorot in under 2 mins.

In this world, where Valentina had 2 rounds in the bag and was outlanding her 22-13 in the fourth with less than a minute left before whiffing on her spinning shit, like I just said.

So you think 9 meaningless strikes would've mattered more than Alexa take Val's back, getting her down and working a choke/choking her for a minute straight? Just go look at the scoring of the 4th round in Volk/Islam to see why that's completely wrong, and the strike differential in that round was far bigger than 9.
