PS: It was Devin Clark, took him like 7 months to return.

I rewatched the fight and the only really meaningful strike to that area apart from a couple of punches was this elbow The GIF below is in slowmo because the best footage I found of it was when they did the slowmo replays so I GIFed that part, so keep that in mind when you evaluate the strike

This is a good thought, especially considering how quick the tap was -- ie. it was a microfracture that Rob thought was just a toothache or a cavity before the fight.

Or, even more terrifying, Khamzat snapped Rob's jaw across the weakening that a pre-existing cavity had caused. Most cavities are further back in the mouth though, so this is less likely.

The microfracture theory probably explains what happened to Conor, Weidman and Anderson too, but this is almost impossible to prove without pre-fight imaging.
