Bobby Knuckle's jaw: not a dislocation but bilateral parasymphyseal fractures

Yikes. Could this be a career ender?
Not really, one guy, not sure of the name, some MW/LHW took a nee to the mouth and had basically the same exact injury, came back a some months after.

PS: It was Devin Clark, took him like 7 months to return.

Goddamn Bobby I thought 26-23 but you're 100 percent right. Hes gonna be wired with with some plates depending on whatever it looks like god speed to the man.

Yup, it was more of a fluke imo, just unfortunate.
fucking sucks.

You think it was this (that it was not fully healed / compromised) plus the crank alone that did it? or the elbow as well?

Fuck it, I think it was something pre-existing and the crank. Did the elbow land in that area? I missed the elbows.

Yup, I'm thinking whatever he had done gave out or wasn't fully healed. I'm not a doctor but I have slept at a Holiday inn before.
This is a good thought, especially considering how quick the tap was -- ie. it was a microfracture that Rob thought was just a toothache or a cavity before the fight.

Or, even more terrifying, Khamzat snapped Rob's jaw across the weakening that a pre-existing cavity had caused. Most cavities are further back in the mouth though, so this is less likely.

The microfracture theory probably explains what happened to Conor, Weidman and Anderson too, but this is almost impossible to prove without pre-fight imaging.

This makes more sense imo.

see below (OP from other thread)

seems like a perfect storm of bad luck

I rewatched the fight and the only really meaningful strike to that area apart from a couple of punches was this elbow

The GIF below is in slowmo because the best footage I found of it was when they did the slowmo replays so I GIFed that part, so keep that in mind when you evaluate the strike
