Maybe he realized his only way to get anywhere is if he goes full on wrestling and skips the striking because that part isn't working out for him anyways.

Is Bo challenging him to a wrestling match?
I think they are trying to avoid the “blanket” label (boring LnP) but that’s what wins fights. It’s a typical American Wrestler stubbornness, they think striking is what they have to improve on to be successful, No. Work on your grappling and Submission skills, that’s why these fighters from the Caucasus are dominating, they improved on their base, not stray away. Makhachev strayed and got Koed, went back to his base & improved on it and is dominating.
It isn’t rocket science, fighters like Couture, Ortiz, Penn’s, Hughes, St Pierre’s figured this 20years ago.
These American Wrestlwrs focus too much positions, the Usmans, Covingtons etc.
Look at Sean Brady, watching him fight brings Nostalgia to me, he’s currently one of the only american ground based fighters who is excelling in using wrestling for his submission gameZ
Finishing fights with a submission is not boring and to me far more impressive, there’s no luck in that, only skill, especially in today’s landscape of talent. If a fighter like Kamaru embraced and worked on submission, there’s a high possibility he would be still be champion right now.I think they are trying to avoid the “blanket” label (boring LnP) but that’s what wins fights.
So true, I totally agree with everything you said. I've noticed this a lot, the new gen of American wrestlers only seem to want to strike, even Blaydes all he does now is striking, its a real shame. It’s a typical American Wrestler stubbornness, they think striking is what they have to improve on to be successful, No. Work on your grappling and Submission skills, that’s why these fighters from the Caucasus are dominating, they improved on their base, not stray away.
