Herro.

Does anyone get down with them blue light blocking glasses?

They are supposed to help relieve eye strain and help people sleep better but is that really true?

i know i can google it but i figured id ask and see if any sherdoggers who stare at the screen for long hours have any experiences to share.

thank you

I'd wager they are probably about as effective as those x-ray glasses from the ads in backs of old comic books.

Yes I own a pair of true darks as well as a cheaper one I got off amazon

i use the true darks before bed and the safety glasses while I’m on my pc at night since the blue light from the PC can screw up your circadian rhythm

helps my body to start releasing melatonin to signal that it’s time to sleep

Get em,

You're gonna look cool and ahead of the curve to everyone..

Sure why not although I'm sure they will somehow be linked to dementia or something in 20 Years

Don't they have a setting on Android for this ?

Eye comfort shield it's called on mine.

No idea if there's anything like it on desktops etc

DL f.lux if you're in front of a computer screen all day/night.

It's funny that this freestyle was considered good enough to be included on the commercial.

It was pretty terrible. Rhyming land with land at the end there.

there is some very weak evidence of the efficacy of blue light blocking glasses being beneficial to either eyesight or sleep. most claims are very exaggerated

here is a 2019 publication
Blue-blocking Filters and Digital Eyestrain

"A filter that eliminated 99% of the emitted blue light was no more effective at reducing symptoms of [digital eye strain]DES than an equiluminant ND [neutral density control] filter. There is little evidence at this time to support the use of BB filters to minimize near work–induced asthenopia."

a 2021 publication
Effect of evening blue light blocking glasses on subjective and objective sleep in healthy adults: A randomized control trial

"Blue light blocking glasses did not improve objective measures of sleep time or quality in healthy adults."

<Fedor23>

works for me

I track my sleep with my Fitbit and I notice a difference when I use the glasses vs when I don’t

im thinking of getting them but how can u tell if they are making a difference? Can it be just a placebo?

dont care about the eye strain study but the sleep study was only 20 healthy individuals

not sure how much of an impact it will have on individuals who already are healthy and sleeping well

also 20 people is way too statistically insignificant to draw any definite conclusions don’t you think?

no it’s not placebo… they put you to sleep quicker for sure and i’ve noticed a difference in my sleep quality

it can also be used to change what time ur actually falling asleep at night

Try it and return it if it doesn’t fit your needs
