Bloodborne v2, The Hunt Begins

Disappointed in the games lack of customization/weapons/gear. Its polished very well and beautiful. The combat is awesome but no classes. No way to be unique. No different styles to play through the game. Every character made wields a melee weapon and gun. And thats the only way to play. Disappointing.

I just made it to the chapel after beating Father Gascoigne. What an awesome game!

I unfortunately ran into a glitch at the Ebrietas elevator, now I'll have to start a new game before I can fight her again :-/.

When describing this game or any souls game the words "Very well polished" are about the furthest thing that come to mind. I am pretty sure that dude does not need to check his controller. It is pretty easy to tell that he is experiencing technical issues that are not simply learning curve or his controller being worn out. I experience all sorts of weird glitches all the time varying from being hit through the floor by werewolfs , being shot through brick walls, being locked into a first person view and my controls inverting until I unlock from the enemy. The technical issues in this game are countless , to me it is part of the game which I am used to. It however is a legit criticism of the game.

That's weird cause I platinumed without any of those issues. The only thing remotely like that is camera trajectory in small spaces; however, camera angle issues are always a constant in this genre in enclosed spaces. I've never had a problem with locking on or unlocking in any souls game. The game does have limits to locking on which IMO are intentional. (You must be so close to lock on I mean). This is so you can't lock on and shoot stuff from ridiculous range though which makes sense in the "no freebie genre."

There are actually some pretty simple rules to locking on too that are easy to miss and give people grief when you unknowingly break them. For example it doesn't work well when you try to lock on to things that aren't pretty much in front of you. The issue with this is people are used to easy mode games that will auto spin you in the direction of anything when you push the lock on button. This is a hand holding thing that souls doesn't do. You need to physically control the camera to capture lock ons as it should be in the no kid gloves environment.

The weapons themselves are what makes the characters unique. And you are required to have a different build to get the most out of the scaling. A skill/arcane build is going to focus on blades of mercy with all sort of magical hunter tool attacks, while a skill/bloodtinge build will use lots of gun attacks and the chikage. There are strength builds with the Kirk hammer and cannon, quality buikds with Ludwigs holy sword...

Yes they are sll different shades of never and not as different as sorcery, pyro, archery, dex and strength buikds in dark souls but there is still enough unique builds to play around with.

Yeah they made bloodborne predominately a melee game, which is fine by me since that's how I always play the souls games. I'm happy to not have dark bead and pursuers flying around everywhere. Magic is such a passive and boring mode of combat imo.

I'm still quite early on in the game, was wondering if at any point you have the option to reset your build and start from scratch? Or once you've spent your blood echoes is it permanent?

You seem to be really into the pvp side of the game, where is the best area to do it? I'm gonna create a character specifically for pvp at some point.

You cant re-assign your stats once they are chosen.
In dark souls 2 you could do that , but not here.

I'm an idiot. I didn't even think of arcane to go with my Blades of Mercy. Only around level 80 though so plenty of time to bump it up.

Also, I missed the chance to get a blood rock before I started NG+, do you know of any other ways to get them?

I've already done the second and third endings so should do the first next, right?

Just can't bring myself to submit though. Seems like such a waste. Has anyone tried it yet?

Knew I should have taken the first ending. Now I'm just getting wrecked.

Best placed for pvp usually are areas with a naturally occurring bell maiden, so places like nightmare frontier and micolash's loft.

If you ever kill a normal bell maiden she will never respawn. You will have to go to NG + for her to be back.

You can also find rituals to create sinister roof chalic dungeons which also allows you to invade and be invaded in the dungeon.

Right now the meta level seems to be anywhere from 100 to 120. I have a 100 blades of mercy arcane build. The executioners glove, beast roar and old hunters bone are very useful for pvp. I am on my third play through and working on chikage skill/bloodtinge build.

I do miss the wide variety of playstyles from dark souls 2, plus the easy to find pvp in the arenas, so I will be picking it up for ps4 eventually, but bloodborne is still very fun and much faster paced style of pvp.

Gehrman is such a fun fight. Probably best in the game.

Hows the loading screen issue? Have patches helped load times?

nah the loading is still slow..

just finished another playthrough. This time using a strength build with axe as the main weapon. Felt like using the Black knight halberd from dark souls...
I added about 23 into bloodtinge for the gun option. Guns make gehrman easy .

Gehrman is fun to dodge. Haven't figured out how to avoid his double hit though.

My strategy for Gehrman is to take his health down by about 50-60% using melee powered by fire buffs . Then when he gets powered up ,I finish him with bloodtinge bullets.

Funny how spoiled gamers are now a days. A 30ish second load screen now equals issues. A 30ish second load screen way back when equaled going into a new room in Resident Evil.

Haha just boxed up the werewolf at the start of ng+. Wasn't hard but took as long as the gehrman fight.
