Bloodborne v2, The Hunt Begins

What depth are you working on? I'm doing 4 or 5, I'm a higher level than you, and they can be really challenging. Especially the defiled ones.

Depth? I'm not sure. I'm using like the 4th or 5th headstone.

Do you have to do the headstones in order? I don't understand how that works.

Is each headstone associated with a specific type of chalice? There are four types but five headstones, so I don't get that either.

You can use any head stone for any chalice. You are just 5 to use in case you want to keep dungeons around. Otherwise you can clear s dungeon and delete it off of tat headstone to replace it with a different chalice.

Awesome thanks!

And the materials you need (eg, 9 moulds etc) can be farmed in the dungeons you've already cleared? Do you just keep revisiting them?

I platinumed early this morning before sleeping for work. I have to say going through the process to far to the queen was eye opening. The defiled chalice dungeon was hands down the hardest by design thing FROM has done yet. Kudos to them for that.

Congrats! What do you mean hardest design? Do you mean hardest difficulty or quality of level design?

I found gehrman easy to beat, especially in his two handed mode. He has huge wide up and made it super easy to gun stagger.

The moon presence on the other hand was a bitch.

Exact opposite for me. I hated fighting Gehrman, he always one shotted me when I had him down to one of two hits. Moon on the other hand was a cakewalk.

I started again this time I'm using the Kirkhammer. Last time I went through the whole game with just the Cane.

So far on my second playthrough I did a sequence break wall jump at the beginning which allows you to go straight to the Forbidden Woods and the back of the pharmacy. Instead of going through the woods I decided to go through the pharmacy and some weird glitchyness happened.

For starters theres two of the same girl there, the one you talk to at the door and one standing on a bed, holding a cane and gun. Neither is hostile or talk, you can't attack the one at the door either. You can however attack the one standing on the hospitol bed, she doesn't aggro and has no health bar but still does damage animations, can't kill her though.

Anyway this sequence breaking allowed me to go to Cainhurst early, I skipped it on my first playthrough and since it's a late game area I'm definitely under leveled. Got some nice loot though allowing me to level up my weapons early.

The sequence break:

Careful if you're going to try it, it can potentially break your game if you don't have a bold hunters mark.

Yep you will find all the stuff in earlier dungeons. So you will have t do some farming.

Absolutely hands down the hardest difficulty. You can't platinum without going through it. It was the first thing I ran into where I felt like I had to really give some serious effort to beat the content. My brother and I played together and I would try on bosses to beat them in 2-3 attempts to beat him. One of the bosses in defiled took me over 50. The only time I've ever experienced this level of difficulty was doing the ENB challenge on dark souls 1. The thing is these are programmed encounters in the way to earning the platinum.

It was a pretty freaking awesome surprise to be challenged that much.

Just beat it. Got the "good" ending, I suppose.

This game is a masterpiece. Incredible experience from start to finish. One of my new favorite games and definitely my favorite of the series with Dark Souls slightly behind it.

Now to do it all over again.

I've done SL1 twice but never ENB. Are you allowed to use the giant blacksmith hammer? Can you buy twinkling titanite and upgrade it yourself?

Still haven't really figured out how to do all the dungeons. I did the first three levels with a fully upgraded weapon but didn't bother going on because it seemed so easy. Obviously I was wrong.

I thought both fights were pretty easy.

Only died to Moon Presence because

I didn't rush him when he took my life down to a sliver and recover. I couldn't use vials after that and almost had him but he swiped me. I love the look of that thing. Holy shit.

I'm stil at the first stage haha, not doing too great. A little torn about the use of the L1 button, it's like a side sweep? I stopped playing for a while after going through what would be the tutorial, now I forgot.

Stil having fun though, it never bothers me that I get killed other than the loading times, but we'll get through that too.

Finally got some time to play today, briefly. Cleaned up the cathedral ward and fought Vicar Amelia once. I died but she doesn't seem so bad.

Game is so damn good.

No L1 transforms your weapon, usually extending its reach. Your weapon will also have a different moveset in its second form.

I did a little bit in NG+ with my original playthrough..
But now I have started a new build.

Every BB streamer I watch seem to be telling people not to play ng+ because no new gear or stuff...so besides the difficulty spike, no reward for playing it...they are hoping it gets From Software to add new content(rewards) for ng+...I have yet to see any ng+ streams or videos...
