This is what happens when a Ninja Gaiden gets 1 shotted by a kidnapper early on the game and goes to Hypogean Gaol.

Pumped my stat and bought a sword and maxed it out but can't use it yet.

But my strength is off the charts for when I can equip it.

You should stop STR, IMO, having broken softcap ages ago and nearing hardcap. I'd focus on SKL (you're cutting off access to heaps of cool stuff at current trajectory) – and while putting a few more points into END. Just some quick thoughts. Always do you, though.

A word of advice on stat ROI is if you want to entertain ARC or BLT, you either fully commit (think 50, really) or not at all. I recommend either of those paths in subsequent playthroughs as the builds are more advanced and playstyles demand more nuance.

What are you wearing? Looks like Hunter Garb but capeless variant. I think you can do better.

All the armor sets I got look stupid. I got some iron armor from this place and it looks stupid.

I use the armor that is on the title screen of the game and the cover on the box for the game. It's the best looking set I got

Out of the 3 weapons. Kirkhammer, Hunter Axe, Holy Sword

All at +6 with extensive testing in Hypogean Gaol

This is the damage rankings with my stats

1. Kirkhammer (2 shots kidnappers)
2. Hunter Axe (3 shots kidnappers)
3. Holy Sword (4 shots kidnappers)

I got my hammer working

The good thing about armor in this game is that it’s mostly just cosmetic. Some will provide some minor resistance or buffs to certain elements but I usually just wear what I like looking at.

That's what I like. I went for the closest ninja looking outfit. I guess he's like a Medieval European ninja

I like this game

I got it slightly below Dark Souls for now. The only reason I rank Dark Souls higher is better bosses. I just killed the 2 witches. None of the bosses were that impressive so far but Blood Starving Beast was really hard for me and he looked cool. Plus I think there's more story in Bloodborn than any other FromSoft game I played or at least it's not so vague.

I like the world of Bloodborn and Dark Souls. Small but packed with content.

1. Dark Souls
2. Bloodborn
3. Elden Ring

Bloodborn is the easiest of the 3 games though with 1 exception being Blood Starving Beast.

He had that old school NES boss mechanic where he got faster the lower you took his health. That's how it seemed to me because I started off kicking his ass but by the time he got down to 1 or 2 hits left, he was kicking my ass.

I went ahead and ordered Sekiro so that should be here in a week or so.

I don't like massive open world games anymore.

I forgot to say I noticed a possible connection to Bloodborn and Elden Ring

In Elden Ring, there is a little island where witches live. It's where you fight that Skinpeeler guy at the top of the island.

And then in the Witches of Hemswick in Bloodborn, I noticed the enemies you fight in this area are the same as the bosses in the catacombs in Elden Ring. Those tall black shadow guys with wild hair and red eyes.

And then in both games in the area of witches, you got to work your way up to the top. It goes uphill to the boss fight.

Same area, different time periods

EDIT: This guy. He was a side boss in Elden Ring but in Bloodborn, he is a normal enemy. I'm thinking as time progressed, hunters are stronger than Tarnished do to more knowledge and technology

I personally like to leave this question vague because it’s a cool one with debated, interesting lore linking the two – Souls and Bb. I’m pretty sure though Hidetaka confirmed in Japanese at one point that Bb is its own unique thing and not, for example, future Age of Dark.

Something really neat is all our Souls journeys take place during historic moments throughout Age of Fire/Flame. Age of Dark/Night is actually post-Age of Fire pantheon, so that’s only ever referenced in Souls and not experienced.

Flame and beasts in Bb have storied interplay that’s in line with older-universe Souls lore amongst possible god/boss lineages speculated (too many spoilers for you right now; keep playing) and armors/WPNs/symbols found in places. Fun stuff.

Does the stake driver need arcane?

I think I might start using this. I tried to look for a vid to see what stats boost it and one said stake driver with 99 arcane. My arcane is like 7. I never put a single point in it but I got 50 strength and I still hit hard with it.

This might be my final build if I don't suck too bad with it. I'm good with the Stake Driver but haven't fought a boss with it yet. Just found the Cannon.

I get inside on them by rolling and popping up with a Shoryuken.

This is what I was saying above. Completely ignore ARC for Driver. You haven’t the gems or ARC value to tap into anything other than its physical DMG. Later, I think you can entertain imbuing an element and transducing current DMG into elemental DMG (which will flip scaling in promotion of ARC at the expense of STR). You’ve locked your char into a STR build for now so have to wield accordingly. I think the Driver is best enjoyed for its charged R2; it can decimate when transformed into an ARC weapon by imbuing with fire, for example, but again, you need to go all in on ARC, so think around 50 stat value.

Haven't played the game in a few months but I was rocking the Crowfeather gear.

I fought the Crow. He or she, I think it was a she.. Was the hardest enemy I fought so far.

The Hunters are the hardest enemies I've fought in the game so far.

The guy wearing white that you fight right before the spider boss for me was way harder than the spider.

Fought that guy in a cramped library and his attacks almost 1 shot me and he was way faster than me.

Yeah, she’s tough as a cane-wielder – female scholar (Yurie). Your build is actually optimal for her and other Hunters as physical DMG is the way to go; they’ll push through any alt. DMG. No spoilers but wait until you meet Old Hunters with something of a precursor called a Beast Cutter. Theirs is a masterclass in the old ways. And school will be in session.

I got the feeling the character you play in Bloodborne is actually the badguy

That Crow fight had me thinking it. I heard what the Crow wad saying during the fight.

I don't remember what the Crow was saying but I think I heard her say that I had to be stopped.

So basically my character hunts beast and there are hunters that hunt guys like me is what I'm thinking and the Crow was one of those Hunter Hunters.

I've farmed them pretty good on my new character. I went with a dexterity/arcane build. The thing is, the Crow isn't spawning in the chapel. I think she's on my team now because we fought together against another hunter.

The whole reason why I started this build was to use the twin blade and that electric mace. I can't get those twin blades because she isn't in the chapel trying to kill me anymore
