PlayStation Bloodborne Megathread, v.4

I know you're probably feeling like you're getting shat on in this thread but you're not alone. I find it frustrating as well. I'm not saying they need to nerf the game but it would be nice if they made it somewhat more accessible for casual gamers because I do find myself drawn to the games but find them to be too much work. I did eventually get the hang of Bloodborne and made some decent progress but then I hit this dungeon that was so hard it made me just give up completely.

@Badger67 also.

Nah I am with you guys on this. I am not a Souls player so I had no idea what I was doing. It took a long time for me to figure everything out and then once I got the hang of it I was like meh. This game is aight. I actually quit the game cause i wasn't feeling it anymore. I didn't have any particular trouble with anything but because i didn't get the gist of the game and the mood, everything felt fake and my desire to continue the game waned. I had killed 4-5 bosses by then and had only died once (i have this propensity to grind levels when i find a good area). At the beginning I must have died 50 times just getting to the first boss cause i didn't understand shit.

Maybe I need to go back and try it again but for now I am with you guys on this game. Great game according to everyone else but I wasn't feeling it.

I've played hard games before but they were more 2d style like cuphead, death's gambit, driven out. Play 3d games on hardest alot of the time gow, kingdom hearts. But I can't get into the souls genre. It's too non linear, lack of story. Combat is slow. It's not for me as much as try I and give it a shot.

Its sad for me because i really wanted to play Bloodborne for years, the atmosphere looked amazing and i was hoping for an awesome story. Baby pet Slug prevailed...

Beating souls games gives players bragging rights lol. Kinda justified too.

Bragging between gamers is kinda common, the games are almost impossible to win lol.

They are difficult but i dont know anyone personally who brags about beating a video game like its an achievement lol

Chalice Dungeons are done. Long live the Queen.

Got two 25% physical damage and two 30% blood damage gems all with 2-3% stamina curses. I'm happy with that as the farming isn't enjoyable at all. Also got 15% health, 20% stamina and 5% damage reduction runes.

I'd say i'm ready for the Old Hunters DLC now.

Goddamn the DLC is brutal. If i do another playthrough i'm definitely using the beast cutter, though.

Ludwig down.

300

PC out of commission while I use it to do some studying for certifications. Decided to try this again on ps5. Got to father pretty quickly but couldn’t beat him during his last form. Need more vials now anyway so going to explore the rest of the level.

When he's a werewolf he takes tons of damage from molotovs.

Fight him on the top of the stairs. Don’t try and deal with his ass in the graveyard. Also, stay close. It seems counter but it’s so much easier to dodge his attacks and get your shots in.

Exploring the rest of the level and getting my hunters garb set seemed to be enough to take him down rather easily. I tried the Molotov trick and it was enough to hit him once and get a good chuck off him. Finished him off from there.

Beat BSB and Vicar which were two bosses that I spent 50+ times trying to beat last time with massive amounts of leveling in between and could never beat them. Had to use the bell to call people to help me. Vicar I needed to level a bit and once I hit 34 she was pretty easy.

Got most of the Forest done but I need to back track to the witches so I can use runes.\

It's weird how much easier this game seems now then it did the last time. I guess all the years I've been trying and failing to play Souls games is finally paying off.

The Living Failures are now the successfully dead. Lady Maria has also received a swift kick to the vag.

Gonna quit while i'm ahead for the evening. I can't believe i got this far and even more so i'm coming to the terrifying realisation that i could be fighting Orphan Of Kos tomorrow...

Nice. Wifey took the kids to her parents house so I'm hoping to knock out the witches and maybe whoever is in the Forrest as well.

Witches and Shadows done. This is the point I reached last time and gave up on the Spider. Even called someone in to help and even he died. So I just gave up. I looked at my original save and it took me 28 hours to reach this point. I'm 11 hours in and I'm here now.

I've probably got between 500-1000h in Bb and still think Rom was one of the hardest bosses for me on earlier playthroughs (I'm assuming 'this point' means Byrgenwerth, of course). To every hunter his own long night but because styles make fights, you and I must play similarly and in kind share like weaknesses. No summons, brother. Kill. And bring ye old friends bolt and fire, aaayyy.
