Really. All those klan folk, neo nazi’s, little old men screaming ‘white power’, all just puppets of the left.

Is there anything you won’t blame on the left? This is plain foolish.
Look, there's always going to be people that say boo boo words to hurt your feelings, especially when they know how much power you allow those words to have. Don't give their words that power. Take away that power and what is left to racism?
My belief is that we nurture racism in this country for political gain, its a deliberate and calculated strategy and we all know it. Don't pretend not to see it for argument's sake.

Anytime I cussed there would be some conservative short haired asshole woman telling me I cant talk like that. The nerve of these cunts to bring up Free Speech as if they are champions of it.
Conservatives are the anti-thesis to free speech. And so are Liberal women.

Minimizing racism to “boo boo words” says everything one needs to know about your willful ignorance on this issue.

So you blame the reaction and the response not the source. The source doesn't exist but the left's reaction to it does.
Its not just words. Its the choices and decisions the people make who use those words. Thats the power. The words are just showing their mentality.

That doesn't even make sense.
Yeah if people just ignore racism it goes away. Thats how blacks overcame bondage,Jim crow, civil rights violations, and segregation. By ignoring it and not reacting or sparking change....
Mind-boggling

Compelling argument.

Continue having your puppet strings pulled, by all means.

I believe I am calling out the source.

i don't see it as a left/right issue. Police aren't exclusively republican. Some of the shootings took place in cities where the police answer to liberal bosses, not conservative ones.

If anything can get done we need to stop and realize that corrupt police tactics are a bipartisan problem with both parties responsible. If both sides keep generalizing one side as "pro police" and the other side as "pro defund" nothing will get done because we aren't criticising what these mayors/governors/senators are doing and what decisions they are making we are just looking at their [D] or [R] and just assuming that every decision they make is good or bad depending on where you stand.

Just my 2 cents.

Or even this. I wish people could be intellectually honest with themselves and transparent to others. Just flat out say, "I dont care about race. It doesn't affect me. I'm not interested if it impacts others large or small. Not my fight. I have more important issues for me and my family. I just need justifications so I dont have to come terms with the fact that I'm not as great of a human being as I think I am. Or because I dont want to deal with being labeled as a shitty person by society. "

I mean, it obviously is far beyond a Democrat and Republican issue as the senior members in both parties, almost without fail, have terrible records on these issues. The Dem leader played a major role in authoring the Crime Bill (to say nothing about the rest of Biden's record regarding race and his relationship with out and out segregationists like Strom Thurmond) and the VP was a pretty hardcore law and order AG in Cali (repeatedly supporting blatantly terrible depts with insane histories like the LAPD). Everything in their records suggests that even though their rhetoric might be different now, the way they view the role of cops is no different from law and order Republicans.

I thought it was some what refreshing that during the debate Biden said and openly owned up to the infamous Crime Bill and that he made a major mistake and in hindsight it was the wrong move to make. What politician does that on a stage that big in front of their rival? That is something you would never ever get from the other side. They litterally just blame the other side for all their horrific actions and policies. You see examples of that in this thread.
Now, do I think they will do anything of significant legislative impact to fix the current Prison Industrial Complex, law enforcement turning into nothing but revenue generating from citizens, more laws and restrictions being put on citizens for them to break, and criminal justice reform....
Probably not. But maybe I'm wrong.

I think that's largely down to the audience and who he was debating against (it's not hard to admit fault when your opponent is someone like Trump and has removed all doubt about where he stands on these issues). He certainly wasn't willing to admit to any fault regarding these policies in the primary debates against others who might have had better policies than him regarding law and order. I have absolutely no faith in Biden or Harris. They'll likely be marginally better than Trump domestically, but talk about low bars. In terms of foreign policy, Trump might actually be better if for no other reason that he's blatantly incompetent and disinterested (and has shown some resistance to the ghoulish hawks like Bolton and Abrams).

Never underestimate the impact of sheer and utter incompetencey....
Especially as it gets older and devolves.
I'd take some what rational people who I dont agree with over a loose uneducated canon.

there are plenty of racist people in every walk of life, and no matter how many people want to change that, it wont happen, some people are just plain ignorant and have been taught that from an early age, so you cant force or make them change their opinions.

and they are passing on their ignorance to their own children, it's a circle that wont end anytime soon as they only see what they want to see and only read what they want to read

By giving it a "pass" and ignoring it? That empowers it and sets a precedent for it to become normalized.
Shouldn't significantly shitty actions have consequences?
Right because the country is so united right now with everyone yelling about everything being racist.

Or if the police were actually self accountable, self regulated, and not above the law like a Police State, then they wouldn't have to worry about defunding. How about just correct the root cause and stick to the constitution as a whole. Not just the lines we find sexy.

Society needs cops. Cops can be good. Cop is a very dangerous voluntary job.
Society doesn't need speed traps from multiple units of LEAs on one road or in the same area. Society doesn't need a covert non visible police force in unmarked cars hiding from people. When a visible police presence is the best deterant for crime. Society doesn't need 4-5 cop cars sitting in a parking lot in amiddle class suburb shooting the shit on the clock eating donuts, while inner city higher crime areas are understaffed.
Society doesn't need police to be equipped with paramilitary equipment to use against citizens. Society doesn't need police to execute, assault, or torture non lethal offenders to make an arrest.
If this type of culture grows and is unregulated it makes sense to look at options like to defund.

I tell you what I 100% rather defend myself against a criminal or civilian than any altercation or negative interaction with a Police Department. I stand a much better chance like that.
A lot of what you are saying is reasonable even if I dont agree with it. BLM is not reasonable. BLM is a movement that has convinced people that we are a better society without cops, they have convinced people that a man who gets shot for rushing police with a knife is worth rioting over. That a homicide suspect who commits suicide is worth rioting over. That's not a movement that's doing something positive in my eyes.

As far as some of your other points that you made. You brought up police shooting the shit in the suburbs when inner cities are understaffed, and I think that's a good point. More cops should be concentrated to those areas, but according to blm that's a bad idea. They believe inner cities are over policed.

You also brought up cops being fitted with military equipment. Without knowing the full details, maybe the cops do need less tanks and other shit they are spending money on. But you have to be realistic to some degree about how much you want to disarm the police. We live in a society that has a lot of people who are heavily armed. You cant really have police here walking the streets with a whistle and a club like you do other places, unless we move towards a more authoritarian society that disarms the people. In that case it would still be cops and civilians getting into brawls and I can guarantee people still would not be happy
