BLM belt

The very same people that ask this are the same ones that would scream bigotry if two white fighters were fighting for a blm belt but also preach “if black lives matter, all lives matter”
Why do you assume because someone says black lives matter they dont believe white or for that matter any other lives do? Why are you so insecure?

it bothers racists and bigots
It represents a political movement that has a certain set of political beliefs, so people who disagree with them or are just apolitcal get annoyed if its on every guy in the NBAs jersey. I dont have much of an opinion on it because I mostly just watch combat sports which dont typically get political.
If somebody is "apolitical" why would 3 letters that stand for giving African Americans more respect from LEAs and other institutions, on a jersey bother them.
Do you mean people who CLAIM to be "apolitical?"

I do think it sews division, but on the other hand if they somehow manage to reduce police brutality it could end up being a net positive. Way too many dudes dying out there. I dont really want to commit to either side though because I dont know exactly how things will play out.
The division is already created lol. That's what racism does. People pointing it out and taking action for change aren't creating division so much as they are highlighting.

It happens at a disproportionate rate. Profiling 100% exists.
So we only want to fix police misconduct when black people are involved? More white people are killed in traffic stops by police than blacks. Why not fix the police issue?

Making it a race issue instead of a police issue is why the problem won't get fixed and didn't get fixed the last 5 times its been brought up.

eh.... I honestly think racism would be basically dead in this country if it weren't for the left. I believe their agenda is to keep it alive and well while they pretend to be doing something about it.

If "all life matters" was an issue or a thing prior to or on its own...Sure. But its not, it 100% is a counter against people who are specifically pushing back against racism.
Its like if a crime happened to you and somebody kept saying "who cares that crime happens to everyone ." I'm sure you would, "thats not what im talking about, I'm trying to address and rectify a specific issue."

Well like I said it represents a set of political beliefs, not just LEA giving Black people respect. Remember when some college kids put up "Its okay to be White" posters and everyone denounced them as far right racists? Imagine if the NFL and NBA were putting the message on their jerseys and just expecting people to interpret it literally and calling anyone who objects racist bigots against Whites. Its not reasonable to expect people to accept political messaging just because it has some plausible deniability.

Well #s don't matter when of course they are the majority. Also, don't forget they litterally have tried to cover up many of the cases for Black deaths....see George Floyd. On vid for the world to see and they still tried to say he died from other reasons.
The only # we should be talking about is TOO MANY.
No the issue certainly wont get fixed when people downplay racism.
Do you know both issues can exist at the same time??? I agree that's part of the problem. The problem gets compounded for minorities.

Yeah liberals make people use the N word and discriminate. Adults aren't responsible for their own horrid actions... ridiculous...denial

Sure but it makes the division worse. We live in a world where people get in street fights over what slogan is on their t-shirt, its terrible for social cohesion.

You are missing the point. It's not equivalent.
But privilege leads people to think so.
People litterally crying about not being able to where black face or make racist jokes is not the same struggle as being black in America today.
We came a long way but are regressing for sure.

No pointing out a problem and demanding a solution does not make things worse. Thats litterally why and how blacks have legal constitutional rights in this country in the 1st place. This is 100% how we became an integrated society. Totally disagree.

Not trying to make any equivalency claims, just trying to explain how people can interpret it politically. I know things arent exactly fabulous in America right now but I'd be interested to hear how you think things are regressing.

I really didn't say anything that this is a response to.

Just saying, I've seen this promise of change over and over and over again in my life and guess what has changed? You know as well as I do that nothing has changed.
Progressive democrats do not want minorities to be successful. They want them to be dependent and to ensure they are, they remind them how much everyone hates them and how they basically have no shot in life around the time someone needs to be elected. Then when they've stopped being useful, they ignore them. I first noticed it when police beat Rodney King and its happened every few years ever since.

FYI I went out 2 weeks ago and a guy came up to me and called me the N word.... but racism doesn't exist. Lmao
I've been called racist 10,000 times on this site because people know I'm white. Assholes say shit to try to set you off.

I think white Americans are frustrated. Some of it is legit... A lot of it is not. I think we have a devisive leader fueling the fire. I think his opposition are enablers and don't always help the plight of minorities as advertised.
We litterally are having race riots in the streets. People have no respect or empathy and the lines are drawn.

Racism exists for sure, but when I step back and look at the big picture racism seems to be vastly outweighed by anti-racism. Racism is by far the most powerful taboo/social misconduct that exists in our society. Its so powerful we say "the N word" even when the context is inherently not meant for offense. In my opinion the unfortunate reality is there will always be the 5% hillbilly racists.

Fair points.
