clearly a bit of both. thankfully, precedents have been set by the NBA/NFL/ESPN in supporting BLM so it's less of a business risk now. i don't think anyone would take the risk of vocalizing their support if they didn't truly believe it, but it's much less risky to do so circa 2020. i know it's silly to imagine that "black lives matter" would be a controversial statement but unfortunately, it is.

It represents a political movement that has a certain set of political beliefs, so people who disagree with them or are just apolitcal get annoyed if its on every guy in the NBAs jersey. I dont have much of an opinion on it because I mostly just watch combat sports which dont typically get political.
BLM exploits black people and sews division.
I do think it sews division, but on the other hand if they somehow manage to reduce police brutality it could end up being a net positive. Way too many dudes dying out there. I dont really want to commit to either side though because I dont know exactly how things will play out.
Problem is, they force us to ignore the root of the issue and focus on an issue we can't fix. Police misconduct isn't exclusive to black folks.
Ya I know, I saw a video of this women crying because her husband was killed by police for no reason but the media wont touch it because he wasnt Black. Still, maybe it will work out that they put enough pressure on the right people who will implement some aracial reform that helps people.
The very same people that ask this are the same ones that would scream bigotry if two white fighters were fighting for a blm belt but also preach “if black lives matter, all lives matter”
