The "free" anything with a contract is a scam for absolute morons who have never had a job that requires them to know anything.. The $50 you save on the Tablet/Phone/wtevr is about 1.5-2% of the total contract, so that's how much you are saving, like 2%.
I had 2 things I wanted to get from Dick's for my kids, a bigger soccer goal (my son is really good) and roller blades for both my girls. I was about to purchase these blades which come with knee/elbow pads in the box like a week ago at 59.95 per set. I actually bought one, they were already "on sale" from 79.95, but Dick's is overpriced at MSRP so the 59.95 sounded about right. The 6x12' soccer net was $200 and I thought "that's too much." But I thought to myself, I think these items will go on sale for Black Friday, but I don't think they will be the "door-busters" that everybody will go crazy for, so I returned the one blade set I got for the girls. Well, I went out Friday evening, and everything I wanted was 50% off. The Blades were supposed to be 50% off the "regular" price of $79.95, but I bitched a little at the register and the manager ringing stuff behind our row said "just give them the door-buster price" or wtevr.. So I got the blades with pads for $30, and the larger goal (still a rip for $7 cost of China plastic) for $100 instead of $200. So basically, don't go out with the retarded hoards and faux competitive female types, and just go out later in the day and they will give you the same deal, because they are shooting for a HUGE gross number for that day, and their mark-ups are higher than you think. I'm a clearance shopper and usually spend 20% at places like CVS getting like $50 worth of stuff, so I know what good deals are.. You can get them all year round, but you can get lucky on black Friday if you don't sign any contracts, and make sure you are getting at least 50% off the thing you actually want.
