yeah, i wasn't paying enough attention and was floored by the names they had on that bare knuckle card last night. it's pretty sad that that's become about ten times more interesting than the ufc.

Is BKFC a front or something? How are they paying out like this when no one buys the events.

Might have a lot of investor money behind them so they can pay high salaries at the beginning and build an audience

No different than Uber having huge investor money to keep their fares down and driver pay up at the start to gain market share, and worry about making a profit later (note that fares went up and driver pay went down as they burned through their seed cash).

BKFC needs big names to get the word out and gain an audience, which they hope to do before their big investors get tired of subsidizing the Luke Rockholds of the world.

I don't know if those numbers are true - no one on here does but we can speculate.

I will say I saw a surprising amount of people on my social media talking about it and having bought it.

I think the conor appearance will help a lot.

If true, the payday, it is good to see some of these guys making $$$$. However, not a fan of luke, but it was sad to see him broken by someone whom he'd have butchered during his prime.

Yes we are going to have BKFC guys walk into the octagon with ufc belts around their shoulder.

Nah, he had his time. Lost 4 of his last 5 fights and was wrestling Mickey Gall ffs. Do you see him stopping Khamzat or Shavkat? They would dismantle him in less than 2 minutes. Enjoy him in BKFC, enjoy Ben Rothwell too. Enjoy Eddie Alvarez there.

I picked Luke. He has it! And like always the intangibles are missing. Perry is the opposite. He doesn't have it but he has it [ The Intangibles].

Now that I think about it. Luke's skill with Perry's attitude and personality would be something special in any field of combat.

We will never know how much they really make.
These reports are only what organizations want you to know.
But yes, the BKFC takes care of their big names.

Actually, the general public knows nothing about the last part either.

People are so shallow, one of the things that seems to expand viewership is pay.
If Nate fights Conner, 1 million people will buy.
If Nate fights Conner for $1 Billion dollars, 2 million people will buy.
This gives promoters an incentive to leak lies about purses, pay, etc.

Also, website links don't mean much.
If davesbutt.com releases fighter pay info that says Conor had to pay all the fighters, it doesn't mean it's true.

2 cents.

As Eddie said... this is for dogs... so different from boxing. Brutal.

Is he interested in returning to MMA, or has Mike Perry discovered his calling in BKFC, which seems perfectly suited to his style? With options such as Donald Cerrone, Nate Diaz, Jake Paul and Eddie Alvarez available to him outside of the UFC, Perry has many potential paths to explore.

LOL idiotic take

Bare knuckle is an entirely different sport

perry beat MVP ffs

Losing a come out of retirement cash grab in a sport everyone knows you're ill suited for isn't nearly as bad as getting KTFO to lose your UFC title to a guy you've previously dominated and utterly dismissed as a legit threat.

Perry might've considered going back 6 months ago but not after last night, that was BK's Forrest vs Bonnar that got them mainstream attention. Perry will never get more adoration or pay in UFC than where he is at.

If anything BKFC is going to start trying to siphon off more and more fighters. Definitely could see them taking a run at Derrick Lewis when his contract is up. A Rothwell vs Lewis BK fight would be nuts, and very bloody.

All the brawlers that lose to wrestlers they'll target. Rothwell and Perry is a pretty good start. Maybe they even throw a million or two at Gaethje, that would be epic.
Only a matter of time before they snatch up Darren Till, Till vs Perry writes itself.

BKFC appears to have some questionable practices, and I'm curious about the source of their funding. It seems that deep pockets are backing the organization, but I have doubts about the legitimacy of all the money involved.

It's bonkers if this was actually a result of an improper mouthpiece. Sure it's his first bareknuckle fight, but he's been in combat for like 15 years or more. He should be at least somewhat aware of what protective equipment he needs. Plus, isn't there a ref or some other AC official there to check you before you get in the ring? The whole vaseline, cup, gloves, mouth piece thing?
I think most likely Luke has always used that type of mouthpiece but just never ran into any trouble with it. Bare knuckle fighting probably calls for something sturdier than he’s used to because he had never been hit with knuckles like that so he didn’t know what he had would be insufficient.

I am not a fighter purse expert but Rockhold is not a such a big deal yeah he has still a name but he is like 40 and horrible style for Bare knuckle I mean when was the last time he did well with hands
Rockhold Alvarez and mendes are why I tuned in.
