The round before he quit, you could see in Rockhold's body language that he was thinking of quitting. I noticed it and was gonna say something in chat, but I was too busy stuffing my face with pizza. Go back and re-watch his body language after his last fight and see how similar they are. Also, he is not terribly mentally stable, and he flip flops a lot, from what I have noticed. I was not surprised when he quit.
I called it before the fight when he chose "con te partiro" as a walkout song.
I misheard, it was in fact "round 2, partiro"

He was out for 3 years because of injuries & Covid, and before that being 1-3 in MMA, all losses by KO.

Then he returns for a 3-round barnburner against Costa, where his display of heart was an amazing sight to see. He retires on the highest imaginable point that any 1-4 fighter could ever be on.

....and then he announces a return to fighting in BKFC... and this was the response of everyone that respects Luke, but also has a memory beyond his fight with Costa...

...and he proved us right. Dammit.

He quit.

With respect, hopefully Luke stays retired this time.

I think we are overlooking those body shots! that was some fine detailing by Mike there.

That’s what pro fighters with pro power do with no gloves.

@Sasha, hope you heard Mike Perry say "I had a little bit of that je ne sais quoi? Magic. In there tonight." :D
Oh I saw your tag earlier but couldn't find the message, I just saw it. It did crack me up, and as I said, very good execution too, I couldn't believe it. The guy is becoming some kind of legend, if he wasn't already.

I thought it was weird if not cringey for Conor to go up there and do some form of face off while wearing a belt from a sport he will never compete in and never has.
Worse than Kelvin parading around with Cejudo's belt? while having disgusting herpes o his face..

The PGA has the senior tour where the older players get to ride around in a cart and in many cases make many times more money than they made on the tour.

And then there’s the BKFC where the UFC fighters made so little money they have to come back and get their faces beat in so badly for probably even less than they made in the ufc. Man… (I feel bad for rockhold)

It's tragically stupid for Rockhold because his gutsy effort in the Costa fight was a storybook ending to his career, and now this sad loss to a little scrapper from the ghetto takes a steaming shit all over that.

Rockhold is so obviously ill-suited for BKFC. I thought that it was a joke when I first heard that he'd signed with them.

they're making way more in BKFC and why would you ever feel bad for some guy way more successful than you is ridiculous.

Rockhold thinks he's tougher than he actually is. He's delusional about where he's at in fighting, dude should have stopped a long time ago. Props for surviving against Costa and putting on a show while looking like shit, but before that he was already looking pretty damn bad.

Unless BKFC starts creating its own stars, it won't be considered a threat.
Stars can be born off the backs of other stars sometimes. Maybe a few lesser knowns just need to beat some retired stars to draw some attention. They need guys like Perry who are willing to put their head in a wood chipper time and time again until he's ready to pass the torch to the next madman. Or they could just keep doing high profile one-offs.
