I started BJJ with Radek Turek as PE at the university, I have to give him credit for planting the love for the art in me (AWESOME instructor, unfortunately I had to switch teams due to atmosphere which I wasn't fond of (I am also to blame for that, I was going through shit in my personal life and was a bit of a douche, no hard feeling to the guys who mocked me, I deserved it), still he's one of the best guys in gi and no gi, who made it to ADCC (he was defeated by Lister) and he is the coach of Kamil Uminski, another ADCC contender). I was doing no-gi at that time. One of the friendliest people I met in life.

Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie > Helio Gracie > Rolls Gracie > Romero Cavalcanti > Alexandre Paiva > Radek Turek

Then I trained in Copacabana Warsaw, another great club in Warsaw, more gi-focused, I had the pleasure to train under a Braulio Estima blackbelt Marek Pasierbski and two brown belts, Piotr "Ashton" Wojtkowski and Aleksander Kujawa. Great, huge academy, biggest facility in Warsaw, strong competition team. The school owner, Kuba Sawicki is an important figure on the bjj scene, he can be credited for bringing WPJJ trials to Warsaw, he organizes a lot of seminars with Braulio, Romulo and Lister.

CC is a huge club and I felt somewhat lost in the big classes (up to 30 people). So I moved to Dragon's Den, led by another Braulio Estima BB, Krzysztof Lukaszewicz. Krzysztof is a multiple European champ, silver medalist of sport accord Beijing (82 kg) and made it to the fila grappling national team.

Krzysztof is a friend of Marek Pasierbski, they've been training together. Krzysztof is focused on keeping the balance between being able to berimbolo and being able to use bjj for self-defense purposes. I also admire his, no-guard-pulling, approach. Each class contains either a self-defense element or a judo throw/wrestling takedown. Small groups (10-15 people) and a lot of attention from the coach.

The sad thing is that I wanted to maintain good relations with my previous club, even come to class when there was none in my current club. However, this wasn't possible since each club forms a separate team during tourneys and in case I would decide to compete (very unlikely) it would be hard to tell which club I represent.

So, story of the last 3.5 years in the sport. Some call me creonte, I prefer to think that I just want to find a place where I find what I am looking for at the moment. Once again I have lots of respect for my previous Instructors and teammates, I try to be on good terms with them.
