bj penn running for governer in Hawaii.

I don’t think it’s racist for the native Hawaiians to vote for the native Hawaiian over a Jewish white guy.

Are black Americans racist if they vote for a black candidate over a white candidate? No they are not

im shocked to hear that native Hawaiians are hardcore liberal.
I get the impression you are shocked by a lot of things.

Some are and some aren’t. Why’s that surprising?

You might also be shocked that native Hawaiians are a minority in our own homeland. But that’s the USA for you.

It would be weird and racist for liberal Hawaiians to vote for a conservative just because of his race. Liberal Hawaiians will vote for a liberal candidate and conservative Hawaiians will vote for a conservative candidate. Kai Kahele is a qualified liberal Native Hawaiian but he’s trailing Josh Green. Josh Green is pretty popular.

I want to live in a world where BJ Penn has to have endless meetings with aldermen, city council members, state senators, sheriffs, public outreach reps, etc. to sign legislation, propose budgets, and all the rest...

...and he's not allowed to go into drunken tippy toes mode at any point. There'll be pineapple leaking outta his ears by the 2nd week.

Hopefully he is working with the Marinovich’s for this campaign. He was at his most motivated working with them. If Jason Parillo is his campaign manager, we know he isn’t hearing accurate data

doesnt he have domestic abuse charges? assault of an officer? maybe other various assault/battery charges he got in bars over the years?
perfect candidate lol! but he will probably get it - he is like 50% native Hawaiian and his family has money.

lol... Abuse his wife, punch cops, get in drunken bar fights, embarrass himself non-stop. I'm sure he'd fit right in if he were smart enough to be a viable candidate.

Spoiler alert: He's not.
Drive drunk and crash the Toyota truck.

The woman opponent in a debate said for voters to do their due diligence and decide for yourself.

If you can't successfully manage yourself, your life, your wife, your career, how can you manage the state and the safety of the citizens?

Half white, half Korean, but looks native Hawaiian.

So criminal record doesn't disqualify you for governor? I'm pretty sure in some professions, the licensing paperwork ask if you were a felon or something like that.

you guys talk about bad shit bj did in his life, WE ALL DID BAD SHIT, but we're not under the microscope. i think bj would do great, he's charismatic and i really think he's doing it from the heart to better hawaii. ccant really talk right now to use sophisticated words as much, since i'm buzzed.
I suspect you are the average Penn voter :D

A criminal record doe not prevent you from holding public office.

Meh bj is ok in my books… definitely not the best candidate but I would choose him over those corrupt fucks in green and kahele any day. He’s not the smartest and has made the most mistakes by far, but he seems to come from a genuine place. He’s obviously not very qualified though

Heidi Tsuneyoshi definitely seems like the best choice imo. She’s the most experienced, qualified, and genuine at all levels. I think it’s sad she isn’t getting more attention

BJ Penn seemed abnormally weird/dumb back in his prime. Can't imagine how much worse he is now.

With that said, he'll probably be an above average politician compared to the rest of them.

But how will be able to be governor and run BJPenn.Com at the same time? Seems like a tough task.
Don't worry he's hired the Marinovich brothers so he now has the conditioning to do both.

I think if BJ had run for county council like Tito did he for sure would win a seat. Maybe even run for Mayor. Then build up from there. Going straight to Governor is a big leap for someone with no experience.
He's taking a page out of the Bu La'ia handbook. I agree though. Even mayor of the Big Island would have a higher success rate then governor...

"I walked into my mom's house and said hey, i'm gonna be governor"

Lol yes that's BJ Penn. I love the guy, and will be rooting for him. As for how well he'd do, i'd be very surprised if he makes a significant positive impact but I really hope he does.
