Media BJ Penn moves to 1 - 1 in street fights

And also no video or what ended up doing Pete in. Wonder if he called in for backup or got up on his tippy toes and got to work.

He earned the downfall he's had in this exact moment.
<6>

BJ never lost that first 'fight' so many mongs think he did.

He let a guy punch him (incredibly stupidly) and then got up later and beat the shit out of the guy. This is all on video.
Still not a good look lol.

What kind of insane cope is this?

The guy knocked him unconscious. His head bounced off ground and shoe went flying. 5 minutes later he runs and tackles guy from behind as the guys trying to get away from him.

Why it is definitely true that he got KOed for giving a free shot and was hammered. He still was brutally KOed and the other guy was likely scared seeing him go out like that.

The first encounter was an actual fight.

I have no idea how true this is but there was chatter that someone else dropped the guy while he was trying to make his getaway which allowed Penn his opening to get revenge.

Sorry dude. But if you get knocked out you lost the fight. Shouldn't have been a cocky douchebag saying, "Punch me again." You don't follow the dude after. That's Masvidal levels of ego.
@Staph infection brought up a good point about Penn attacking him from behind afterwards. Some "champ" Penn is.

Many have lost in combat by underestimating their opponent, which is what BJ did. It's still a loss. In gladiator times BJ would have been dead, no chance to come back.
Gladiators didn't kill each other like we used to think they did. They were professional fighters who won or lost and usually lived to fight another day.

Just a historical nitpick because I'm fascinated by those guys, especially the Retiarius -- the coolest looking mofos in all of combat:

Also, they never used the thumbs down to kill an opponent.

Natural order was kind enough to post. Sorry you are too lazy to provide references for your dribble @Dr Fong

The article says Penn ran up on the guy from behind. Guess that was the only way he could get the win.

The article also quotes people as saying 'Penn tried to defuse the situation mutliple times' and then started 'egging the other guy on' i.e not fighting back, which is clearly evident in the video.

It also seems that the 'tackled from behind' story may have come from the other guy - the wording is unclear. The articles says 'we're told' but immediately follow it up with the other guy's version of events rather than quoting a witness. It's very possible that happened but remains inconclusive.

Sorry dude, but understanding the basic distinction between fighting back and not fighting back shouldn't be difficult to understand.

Apparently it is too difficult for Shitdog though.

It isn't. Maybe you shouldn't insist a drunken angry man to hit you after getting in a scuffle though, too.

Yes, that's mostly correct. However, while gladiators themselves were not frequently killed, many others did die in the spectacles at the Colosseum. Public executions, fights involving condemned criminals, prisoners of war, and "beast hunts" (venationes) were a significant part of the entertainment and often resulted in fatalities. These individuals were not trained gladiators but rather people who were thrown into these events without much chance of survival. So, while gladiators usually lived to fight again, many others met their end in the brutal displays that were part of Roman entertainment.

Rarely ever talked about is the fact that BJ avenged that loss..

He also beat up a bouncer on the street..

So he's technically 3-1 in street fights...GOAT
