Bisping officially retires from MMA

The fact that so many sherbitches are hating on him shows what a legend he was imo.

Just heard him say hesh having issues with his good eye

Doubt he'll be back

As we all probably knew - he ducked the rockhold triology, talked about it, but never did it. Cant blame him, 1-1 is a great result for him, run away instead. Tho that said he could ptentially had beaten him again, tho showed himself to be a real pos after that fight compared to how rockhold treated ihm in their first fight, so he ducked him - of course.

Bisping had a tremendous fighter heart, crazy. Not the best at anything, but his heart and how he he´d look like a can of opened tomatoes so many times. That man gave it his all witha al lhe had- i really respect that. And thanks for the easy money for the KO loss vs gastelum.

Still sucks they didnt do the whole rockhold vs jacare - and then the romero, and whittaker etc - so many kilkers - instead of bisping and hendo and bisping n rockhold but hey bisping accepted when jacare said no i think i heard so if thats true, well props - but also he knew that´d be his only shot probably.

He wanted to fight hendo, got dominated and beat up bad - yet won , because mma scoring system - bit weak that he doesnt offer rockhold the triology when he wnated revenge vs hendo but hey okay hard to fight everybody three times - so whatever, i´totally get the reasons for not offering it lol.

Insane ifhgter heart - thought he had one more fight in UK tho? but okay sure why risk it.

the champ who wasnt champ level. and with an insane fighter heart, which is weird why he´d duck people then when he had such a massive heart - never quite understood that, like why gsp..why hendo..i guess money + personal reason but seemes like he ducked the real killers and doesnt make sense when you consider his massive fighter heart once the fight is on. maybe thought they were roided (romero) who knows.

but mma fighters are the sportsfolk i most often see retire only to be back two weeks later lol. so i wont be suprised, and still think theres a chacne he may want to do that 1 more fight. but we´ll see.

Where is this racist lair he speaks of ?

It's still nothing short of unbelievable that he won the title after no one gave him a chance. Also holds the record for most UFC fights and wins and was top 10 for a decade after winning TUF pretty much until his retirement. Respect.

Some people gave him a chance.

The ko props for him was like 41 round one, and 51 round two. and that was imo his only way to win - i still bet rockhold - but doesnt mean he didnt have a chance - just a slim one. and he capitalized fully on rockhold underestimating him and being arrogant - and he took his chance when offered, he knew this was his only chance - so so much respect for his fighter heart.

he was a pos after the fight tho, with how he acted compared to how rockhold was to him the first time.

Sounds like a good decision considering his eyesight.
Great career he helped MMA a lot.

Bummed to hear about his issues with his good eye.

He gave us the Rockhold KO, for me the goat MMA moment. Respect and all the best.

i always said he'd beat anderson prime or not
it was just meant to be

Naw bruh, Prime Anderson would have ran right through any version of Bisping easily and effortlessly.

Bisping's career highlight will be only known for knocking out Rockhold to become champ, thats it.

As a UK man I always loved Bisping even when it seemed the rest of the world hated him.

The infamous KO pic. Honestly that shit was so hilarious. You could not have one Bisping thread without that pic. :D

Then people started to like Mike and I was surprised at first. But then I understood. He just speaks his mind and be's himself his trash talk is funny to watch.

So props on his career. He even became champ which I never thought he could. Respect Michael "the cow" Spitsping.

I've followed his career since his time on TUF. Was so hyped when he won the belt from Rockhold, I doubt I'll ever be that hyped again watching an MMA fight. He always said winning the belt was his destiny and after always falling short at his contender fights it was kind of magical to see him pull of what many thought was the impossible against Rockhold.

He clearly puts his family first and I've heard first hand that away from the cameras he's a nice humble guy, he just knows how to promote a fight. He is a legend of the sport and had a great career. I hope he gets his eyes sorted and has a healthy retirement.

Was never one of my favorites but towards the end of his career he turned me into a fan and I appreciate and respect what he's done in the sport.

He was fighting at a high level for a decade! Man's a legend.

I'm glad he is retiring and not risking his health anymore. Would have been great to get a retirement fight in the UK but that Gastelum KO was way too brutal, I wouldn't want him taking another fight after that.

He had a great career. He won TUF, beat Anderson Silva and won the MW belt years out of his prime. He wasn't the greatest fighter but he achieved more than the vast majority of fighters that stepped into the Octagon.

Eh, I'll miss him. He was a fun guy, plus he derailed Rockhold's hype spectacularly.

Always loved the guy. Very under-rated and, while his title reign was a joke, the title victory over Rockhold is one of the most emotional moments I've had watching MMA as a big fan of his. I also think the majority of his haters somewhat warmed to him in the latter days of his career, with him doing quite well in the punditry as well. I think they saw a better side of him.

Good luck, Michael 'The Count' Bisping, one of my all-time faves and a true warrior! Thanks for the memories.
