Bisping officially retires from MMA

Why do you think I'm bashing him? I'm acknowledging that he had a good career. He's just not a legend. The term "legend" is so overused in MMA, it has basically lost all meaning.

You guys seem to think that if I don't agree that a fighter who just retired is incredible and a legend, that I am somehow bashing him.

Semantics mate!

BTW what was your last name on here, and why did you get booted?

Damn, and Father Time keeps marching forward.

Bye bye Bisping.

<mma1>

I mean yea, his win over Rockhold was a fluke and pretty much nobody acknowledged him as a real champion after those defenses.

But that kind of isn't how Bisping should be judged. He should be judged based upon the reality that he was a solid top 10 fighter for a long time.

Lucky, yes. A fraud? Nobody believed he was the best MW at any point in his career.

How is it a fluke. He also beat Anderson, was that fluke too?

Anderson is old as fuck lmao.

Rockhold is much better than the version of Anderson that Bisping beat.

The way he acted after he beat Rockhold, in the octagon...seconds after winning...to be honest to me completely discovered the type of low life, values and everything you can imagine a person could be... you can tell a lot about a person in defeat, and you can tell a lot about a person in victory... as a human being sorry but he isnt worth much...you kids keep cheering him because he is a warrior, a fighter blah blah blah... to me other things are more important to praise a person

You are retarded.

Good bye Bisping, although he acts like a bit of a dick from watching many videos of him outside of the octagon i can say he is an honest guy with a good heart and the type of person you could trust your life with, I'm happy he was able to become MW Champion and defend the title on homeground, wish he could have had a good farewell fight instead of take up a fight with the killer Gastelum :( , i will miss Bisping~

A bit off-topic but does anyone know what does Jan Bisping (Mike's father) say here at 1:11:05 (time-stamped)?

I’ve rooted for Bisping a grand total of three times, Dollaway, ASilva, and Rocksalt... Mikey came through for me in all those tilts...lol.

For Bisping to have his sustained success for nearly 12 years, most of those he was top 10, while battling through the eye injury, getting horrifically KTFO a few times, while lacking God given athleticism and a great chin is absolutely astonishing. Through hard work, will power, perseverance and being a little lucky he’s accomplished things his biggest fans on this board couldn’t have foreseen, his accomplishments should be celebrated not mocked.

Mike deserves to enjoy the analyst job as he seems to love having a mic to talk into...lol. He earned the recognition of being a former champ and actually defending (sort of), he was a great company guy, saved numerous events, headlined the first few European events, I’m sure he will eventually be a UFC HOF inductee (Dana’s buddy club)

Props to Mike for doing what doubters told him was impossible during his entire career, he stayed true to the goal and shouldn’t have any regerts (except the Gastellum fiasco).

Ah damn you Sherdog.

Apparently he announced it Monday on his podcast.

I’m too slow, what can I say

A great servant to the sport of mma. Bisping ‘haters’can gobble chode as far as I’m concerned

Love him or hate him, he always made you care about a Bisping fight. Think about how rare that is.

One of my favorite mma moments was watching him fight rockhold short notice and then knocking him out.

I hated Bisping at the beginning of his career. I met him by chance on the street in Sydney, he was a very cool guy. I started seeing him differently and became a fan.
A few years later I was in Boston, and again I met him on the street by chance, and again he was very cool. Not cocky or arrogant in any way. Neither time did I mention UFC or anything like that, I just chatted with him. He seemed like a normal, likable guy.
Love him or hate him, he had a great career. He is making the only sensible choice. He is rich and famous and has accomplished a lot. No sense going blind.

I'm glad he did. His eyes were jacked from TRT Vitor. Hope he invested smart.

Dude gets a lot of hate but accomplished a ton on heart and tenacity.
