Bisping officially retires from MMA

Not really, I'm being honest about his career. I said that hes a good fighter and had a great moment in that Rockhold win. Objectively looking at his career isn't discrediting. I'm just not overrating his achievements just because he retired.

You can believe he's a legend if you want, but if Bisping is considered a legend these days I think it's safe to say that that word has lost its meaning.

Most wins in UFC History, beat 3 of the best Middleweights of all time, potential GOAT Anderson Silva, Luke Rockhold and Dan Henderson, two devastating losses he avenged, one of 2 weeks noticed for the UFC Championship, was not only in the company, but amongst the company's best for over a decade gaining 20 (Most) UFC wins during that time.

There's objectively looking at his career. There's pure non-exaggerated facts. If that doesn't warrant legend status then Idk what does. He always pissed off assholes like you though, and we love him for it.

One of the most legendary legends, Michael Bisping.

good career. Got the belt. Beat some good guys.

Essentially ruined Rockhold. Thats probably his greatest achievement lol

Yes. He got the belt, he defended it even (although not vs who he should have). He’s been a top level guy, even if he wasn’t ever the best, for a long time. He deserves his praise as a guy who took on a lot of the best in his weight class, sometimes winning, sometimes losing, but for always competing and basically never being an easy fight for anyone (minus the KO’s).

He’s got himself a good job for now on UFC on Fox stuff, hopefully ESPN finds value in him and moves him over. If not, i’m Sure he’ll be alright. He has his podcast and other stuff going so he’ll be alright.

It’s a shame though, I sort of missed watching the embedded’s of his upcoming fight and his kid picking his opponent to beat him every time lol.

Wow. Really thought he wanted one more before callin it quits. Always a fun guy to watch and listen to. Watching him knock out Rockhold is still one of my top 3 moments in UFC. Hope were lucky enough to have more like him.

Hell of a career. The man fought so many times in big fights he earned everything he has ever gotten. A proper example of hard work paying off.

You're not looking at his career objectively, though. You're forgetting that Silva and Dan were out of their primes (Silva was still a great win though) and that even most Bisping fans would admit that he'd lose badly to Silva if he were in his prime. And again, you're not taking the "most UFC wins" stat in context. Outside of two great wins in Silva and Luke, his resume is filled with middling fighters and losses when he would take a step up in competition (Henderson was not a great win at the time either, he was ancient at the time of the rematch).

Also, you think that just because I rightfully do not think that he is a legend, that it must mean that I hate him. You're simply not looking at this objectively.

Bisping was a good fighter. But he was not a great fighter, nor a legend.

if he does retire

always been a fan
he had a great career
would have been nice to see him leave with a win

i always said he'd beat anderson prime or not
it was just meant to be

He didn't beat him, he got his ass kicked and got a gift decision.

My litmus test for fighters I admire is this....
Do I want to watch this guy fight..win, lose or draw.
Bisping is in that category.
Great career.
MMA is losing a character

For me he's the guy who did the most with the least.

The best depiction of his career.
Bling took the opportunity and made it himself a champion and probably a millionaire.

Not bad at all.

Was hoping to see him fight Nick Diaz in London.

For the best I suppose. He’s rich as fuck and one the title. I was just thinking to myself yesterday how fucking awful his eye looked while, watching him on that panel. He has nothing left to prove. Thanks for the memories. No matter what you think personally about him, he always came to fight

Ping is a legend.

To all of the bottom feeding haters that posted in this thread.... Go fuck yourselves. Keep.posting from your mother's basements

nah

he beat him fair
if anderson wasn't a fool and started to celebrate too early
he could have had the tko win

Ducked Rockhold trilogy confirmed.
Rockhold is in palookaville where he has been sent by the mighty bisping. Emails and phone calls dont penetrate there.

Couldn't imagine him winning against anyone in the top 10 and it would have looked pathetic to go from Champion, to hand picking an old fighter like Shad or Kelly.

Shame we never got to see him fight Romero.
Shame he ducked the Rockhold trilogy and the Henderson trilogy. Old man Dan beat his ass in the rematch.

*Spits on Mike at his retirement ceremony*
