Every year, my girl puts together something special for me, but after my 40th birthday party here in Sweden, when someone gave me a gift card for underwear, I thought, "That's it—no more birthday parties."I will be doing NOTHING on my birthday.

I don't have birthdays. I have birthday months. I'm worth celebrating.do any of you, say over forty, still make it an event to celebrate your birthday? mine's coming up in a few days and i'll be 44, and i literally was going to treat it as another monday, but now i'm getting text messages from family about what we're doing for it. i don't want to do anything lol. if they can take away the heat, i'll take that!
any of you still have the birthday cake and singing celebration and the like?
I take vacation the week of my birthday, my birthday is 10/3. It usually is the week leading up to Columbus Day, so I get a free buffer day before going back to work.
Every few years though, my birthday falls during a half-September/half-October week. This is one of those years.
So I take two weeks off![]()
