Ive listened to his career post Nirvana but tbh his work on Foo Fighters has not surpassed his drumming career in Nirvana. Hes a good singer and guitar player obviously but I think his drumming is still what stands out to me about him. He was such a damn good drummer on Nirvana.

It's better if you like just having more typical hard driving rock songs, one after another. That's what Foo Fighters are good for, kind of semi-hard alternative rock songs. They all have pretty much the same energy.

Kurt was a lot more varied in how he came up with songs, he was super limited in his guitar skills but within the skills he had he did a good job of mixing things up, and I would say the heaviest Nirvana stuff is better than the heaviest Foo stuff, and the poppiest Nirvana stuff is better than the poppiest Foo stuff ie. Kurt handled the extremes better, but Dave is more consistent (helps not being addicted to heroin along with other physical and mental health problems that Kurt had). There's a lot more pain and vulnerability in Kurt's music, which makes it a bit more personal imo.
